As a TN fan I was surprised Iowa didnt put up a fight, TN is rebuilding and isnt that good, the entire DB position left but 1. Iowa may need to fire the HC, hes good at defense and won 10 games but the offense is horrible and he seems like he wont let anyone have control over it but him

As a Tennessee fan we definitely wanted to play. Most of our opt-outs/transfers were backups or just older guys that just weren't getting it done and were more or less forced by younger more talented players. So you guys played our most talented team of the season imo and not a team full of backups or anything like that lols

Great take guys! I do appreciate what KF has accomplished in his career and at Iowa. Certainly admirable in a number of ways. But for those that bow to the idol of Saint kirk, don’t forget he gave his unqualified kid a million dollar job as a state employee, circumvented the laws of the state, and then kept him there for years after proving he couldn’t do the job. How does that not make he and the university guilty of defrauding the taxpayers of Iowa?

Yep the Big 10 is going to be stronger with the new teams coming in and thats good. The Big 10 west will actually be able to compete with the Big 10 East which historically it hasnt and it was obvious. It was also one reason why the SEC consistently beat the shit out of any Big 10 team. It has appeared that the playoff committee has also consistently done all it can to get a Big 10 team into the playoffs which is also understandable (but have they really been one or two of the best teams in the nation? Thats arguable considering the results). However Michigan sure as hell was this year. I also think the SEC was just not that good this year. Across the SEC there were QB issues. I mean this has to be the worst Alabama team I can remember. IMO the Michigan team was really good (keep in mind they cheated) BUT......player wise they were really good. Lets hope the Big 10 West can complete in the future years.

Bowl games re nothing more than senior bowls for some and over glorified practices for most. They mean nothing anymore. That wasn't a game between Tennessee and Iowa. It was a game against two scrimmage squads. These bowl games will eventually disappear because of the opt out and lack of interest.

The SEC just has more athletic teams from top to bottom. Even Vandy has better athletes than this Iowa team. Luckily all the teams not nicknamed Wolverines or Buckeyes play old man football in the BIG. The lower tier BIG teams can't run with the mid to lower level SEC teams.

I think a lot of you had the Tennessee Vols pegged wrong 1) We were worse for the opt outs when really we were glad to see our transition year players go for elite freshman 2) We wouldn't give our all for Tennessee in the bowl game, that's not the vibe in UT 3) 8-4 this year but we still are built to go play Bama, Uga, Uf, not NW, Illinois, Maryland. I like the Hawkeyes because they were a solid team for years but I felt 100% we were going to win after your beat writers takes.
