This video shows how to make a healthy Millets Pongal. This can be had for breakfast or dinner.Millets are a very healthy alternative to rice and packed with minerals. In this recipe we are using Foxtail Millet also known as Thinai in Tamil.or Kangni in Hindi.
Ingredients
Foxtail Millet 1 cup
Split Moong dal 1/2 cup
water 4 cups
Grated ginger a small piece
Cashewnuts a few
Ghee 1 Tbsp
Curry leaves a few
salt
black pepper 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds 2 tsp
For Chutney
Grated coconut 4 tbsp
ginger a small piece
Green Chillies 1-2
Roasted gram2 tbsp
salt
oil 2 tsp
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Urad dal 1/2 tsp
curry leaves a few
Hing/asafoetida a small pinch
