Fab and Rob were treated so unfairly especially here in America. Most didn't take the time to listen to their story before casting judgement. I love Fab and Rob and just wish Rob was still around. I follow Fab on KZbin and he is one of the most genuine and kind hearted ppl out there. He could be a motivational speaker or spiritual adviser. I understand in retrospect why the revelation that Milli Vanilli was fronted by people that didn’t actually sing on their music created such a strong reaction. They had gotten so big at the time to the point of being household names and it embarrassed and threatened the credibility of the Recording Academy that awarded them their Grammy and the major forces of the music industry, including Clive Davis who was the head of their American distribution record label Arista. I still loved Rob & Fab as performers and the Milli Vanilli music to this day though. Like it’s such idiosyncratic music that the producer and the vocalists and songwriters he put together created, especially if you ever heard the original version of their first studio album, All Or Nothing, which was how their album was released outside of America and Arista Records, which is pretty much the album of their music that is sold today here in America on streaming and digitally. It’s like such a guilty pleasure. Their second album, which was largely already finished before the producer outed Rob & Fab and released overseas from an expanded lineup of singers and rappers as “The Real Milli Vanilli” in 1991, was also a pretty good album and had many sheer gems of songs that would have easily been more huge hit Milli Vanilli singles including in America at that time. It such a tragedy that Rob Pilatus, the other frontman, ended up succumbing to drug addiction and alcoholism and depression because it’s quite clear that with the passage of time, more people know the truth now that Rob & Fab were basically exploited and set up from the very beginning by their producer and caught in a situation they really didn’t want to be in and couldn’t really get out of. They were the ones that caused their own outing in the first place because they essentially didn’t want to be part of the producer’s charade anymore.

In order to pay back the record company they just kept touring and it took off. We all make mistakes during early adulthood. They just didn’t have the experience to navigate the situation. It was still their choice though. But, they never did it again. I honestly don’t think there is a single person in here that’s over 30 that DOESN’T have a story of something they did once during their early 20’s that was a big mistake and never did it again

He was staying at a hotel near the airport and went out with friends, he came back, went to sleep and never woke up. His assistant found him the next day and he looked angelic, like he had died in his sleep without knowing. In the autopsy they found prescription drugs and alcohol but not in large enough quantities to kill him. I suppose that if you have been addicted for many years the vital organs could be damaged but that’s my opinion.

the thing with autotune is that it's enhanced with softwares to the point where the original singer cannot sing live at all but it's still "their voice", the thing with milli vanilli is that they were using someone else's natural voice and made people think it was their voice it's straight up robbery 😂 I still love them and have a lot of empathy they didn't deserve such a backlash because "for some reasons" aka money, the industry washed their hands clean like they had nothing to do with it when it was a producer masterplanning the entire thing.
