But The Cult were just as good, they have a vast array of great songs. Try tracks off Sonic Temple. Anyone who's around my age had superb bands that you could go & see for as little as £3.00. I'm from B'ham, UK. And the Odeon on New Street was the venue of choice. My best concert may suprise some, but it was Krokus, Hardware. We had it good & I feel so lucky. I also knew the Band Diamond Head personally although they were a fair bit older, but I used to drink in Stourbridge. @@vincentbrannelly8786 if you watch the original "music videos" for AC/DC's Back in Black album, it's just the band in a large dark room miming to the music, it was 1980 proper music videos hadn't been invented yet. well Gretsch must have got sick of seeing Mal Young playing a battered old Double Jet, so they gave him a Falcon to use during filming, tho it wasn't used on the record. Malcolm was about 5 foot 2, he looked like a little kid trying to play his dad's guitar. it's kinda hilarious. Falcon is a very expensive pain-in-the-ass that never leaves an environmentally controlled studio. no guitarist with good sense takes one on the road. even Duffy, by the Sonic Temple record, had switched to a Les Paul. Billy didn't really like playing the Falcon, but no one else was using one and it made him "stand out" from other guitarists at a time when "pointy" guitars were the hot new thing that everybody played. "grandpa" guitars were VERY uncool. Billy made it work tho. so much so that the guitarist in one of their support acts decided he could do for the Les Paul what Billy was doing for the Falcon, Les Pauls were also "grandpa" guitars at the time. he could make the old-fashioned guitar look cool again. that was Slash.
