One thing I wanted to share is that the Sunco 110 octane leaded race fuel will help your equipment last longer. Lead is a lubricant. It has historically been used in older V8 engines to help preserve valve guides and valve train. In this case, we want to help the piston and compression ring last longer. Lead is poisonous and I use a respirator with organic vapor filters, but my saw has never run better. My saw seems to run cooler with these longer sustained run time cuts.

I am glad to see this setup. I have a very similar setup with a 84” bar. I am struggling with bar sagging in center. I am hoping you could maybe address that and provide solutions for that. I really enjoy and benefit from your videos. Many thanks

One of my good friends just bought 2 of these rebuilt for 825 total! Both turned out to be great saws. He has a tee service and took the chance and it worked out great. Now I'm trying to get him to sell one to me 😂

I have purchased 4 Stihl chainsaws in the last 5 years. The only thing any of Stihls literature said was " don't rev to full throttle unless cutting for the first 3 tanks of fuel".

I agree i think break in procedures are done as they are used with todays equipment break tyem in how you intend to use the equipment is what my father has always told me manufacturers would not put a warranty on things they think will break down if they dont stand by the product

Welcome to the long bar and big bore saw club! I have been very happy with my new 96" Granberg mill using my 2007 MS880. I will say I disagree on the break in. I have bought over a dozen new saws and do run my own tree service. I have broken in every one. I may be biased as I also work for the world's largest earthmoving manufacturer and we have specific requirements for break in periods as well. I just can't fathom spending that kind of money and not following some simple guidelines.

Thanks for the kind words. My issue was finding consistent guidelines. I asked the dealer I bought it from, a small engine shop and the community en masse and got wildly different answers. And the manufacturer had no instructions either.

I completely get that. Opinions are all over the place. Best you can do is follow whatever manufacturer guidelines are available. And it probably goes without saying to stay away from any % ethanol in fuel if possible. I'm excited for you on your new mill. I look forward to seeing how it works for you. I know keeping the chain tension up is important. I've had the chain run off mid cut, hitting the guide and dulling all of the teeth on one side.
