Dealing with obstacles ahead of time is such a great tip! I also used to set quarterly goals in the past. Then I had twins.....now that they're almost 1.5 years, I finally have the mental capacity to think about other things. Thanks for the reminder to be kind to oneself, the unexpected certainty happens in life! Having twins for example has set me back two years....but that's ok, just keep swimming.

Thank you so much, Rose. I might follow your goal-setting techniques. I am a person who is easily get swayed and distracted by what's happening around me. That's why when you said this it hits me so hard. In the 70's, I became associated with Paul J. Meyer, founder of SMI, Success Motivation Institute, of Waco, TX. His goal setting programs consisted of cassette tapes, cassette player, workbooks, forms and an attache case. They sold for $600.00. Your one video here not only includes the vital information contained in his courses, but also delivers the information in a more personal and better understanding way. The one thing he included was a section where the student could write down "how would it make you FEEL once you accomplished this goal". One area not included in his work which is very important is "believing in the beginning that you can do this". Rose, put your future book on the shelf and write your 'Blueprint for Success Course' for us. I am now 80 years old and know stuff.

Great goal setting vid and applying the SMART method. Great breakdown, best I've seen other than how Brian Tracy does it. I set my goals basically like yours with more digital tools. I too use Google calendar and will look into asana again. What I do with calendar is I plug in my whole goal sheet and set it as a recurring reminder weekly that I can review and cross off. I struggle with breaking down those goals that I can manage more effective, so takeaway from your vid is to break these down into bite size pieces. What I'd like to also get better at would be to actually set shorter time-frame goals that still align and sync up with my annual and longer term goals. This is what most people haggle with when setting goals they can actually follow. Nice vid overall and it would be great to see a mini vlog in action of tackling short term goals to meet your overall annual /longer term ones.

Great video. Something you might want to add to the SMART framework is SMART(ER), E for exciting and R for slightly risky. I got this from Full Focus. Nice use of the 12 week year (90 day or quarterly goals instead of yearly goals.) Brendon Burchard is big on "if it is not scheduled (on the calendar) it probably won't happen." Also, in writing your goals out nice use of implementation intentions. Finally, what is your best selling book going to be about? Looking forward to reading it. You do a great job!
