I'm a grown man and I cried when watching this. I have always said if I won the lottery I would do what you are doing. I try to donate to charities and my time to families and children . Even if I do not have much I was raised to always know there are people out there less fortunate than myself. I have taught my children now grown to always respect others and help anyone in need. It's sad to think some children are denied opportunities so young. Poverty is quite the beast. The government does offer a lot of assistance though, I am truly grateful for the 4 years I spent in college and the financial assistance I was provided given that I also worked full time during my studies. If you want it go get it! Nobody can stop you but yourself! Unfortunately I was a very ignorant kid and had my head set on being an orthopedic surgeon when it wasn't really practical for my situation. My parents grew Marijuana and I always had my head in the clouds when my true passion and skillset was math. Unfortunately I didn't realize until my loans were used up and I desperately needed security. Fortunately I fell into carpentry thanks to an old friend and have been a carpenter the laat 9 years, even starting a successful remodeling/tiling business two years ago. I ran into more financial issues but I'm always willing to keep progressing and trying new things. Sometimes it's good sometimes it's bad but I believe you can achieve whatever you set your mind to!

I think after watching the entire thing, my favorite most emotional part is the first 10 seconds we see the mother. She ran to her child with passion and terror. Her scolding Luis about talking to strangers wasn't even harsh it was with total love and protection in mind as she swarmed around his body and protected him from the dangers of the world. After hearing her own story about the abuse in the shelter as a child we now fully understand the panic in her actions, and the love in her heart. She reminds me so much of my own mother. Same life goals. Same love. Same energy. I miss her so much. And i'm so happy for Luis and his 2 brothers. Their lives changed forever that day.

yes, that was really hard to watch. Luis was sharing some of his mother's pain to help her through it. And the way she strokes his hair when it's his turn to speak or take the spotlight in the interview ....reminds me so much of my own mother. I'm 41 years old but still remember being a child falling asleep with my head on mom's lap while she stroked my head. A mother's love is the greatest gift she can offer a child, because it will shape them for their entire lives.

You couldn't have picked a more deserving family than this one. Listening to stories like this one, including the mothers story of her own childhood, makes one feel for the immigrants. I know it's not a popular subject with all the negativity around some of the immigration issues right now, but we have no idea what some of them have been through and would continue to be subjected to if they had to stay in their own country. Of course, they should all come here legally, but some of these children and adults' lives are at risk in their own countries, let alone some of the horrible conditions they endure just to get here. I also totally understand there are certain things that are happening here due to the over influx of migrants, but we all yearn to be free and have a shot at an education and employment. ❤

This video reminded me so much of my mother and the sacrifices she made for me and my sister and brother. To this day she struggles with the past and decisions she wished she could have made. I tell her that rehashing the past won’t change anything. The reality is that we are all capable, strong adults today, far from the situations that we had back then. The tough times made us stronger and allowed us to understand how to navigate challenges. This mother and the love of her children and wanting the best for them, not to mention how her child reacted in the challenge says a lot about the values she’s instilled in him. I hope the very best for his future. He is on the right track.

I have never cried so hard at this type of video. Kudos to your team and the work you do. When I was 10 years old, my father was killed in a car crash. My mother was hospitalized for a very long time, and we were going to be alone at Christmas. The community got together and provided for us and we had a wonderful Christmas that year despite our familial tragedy of two months previous. What you do will change lives, just as our community saved the lives of my brother, sister and I. I am now an old man, and I thank you for restoring my faith in who we can be. Helping others in need is more important than anything in this world. It is nice to see that some have not forgotten this, in a world that teaches hate and suspicion.

It really touched my heart, this remind me when my wife took my daughter from school to her friend's small shop and it was my daughter's birthday my wife's friend want to give her something and she asked her what he want to choose between biscuit and sweets, and my daughter said: I want a blue pen, a red pen and a note book to use for exercise when I am at home; immediately my wife couldn't hold herself and clied all out!!
