I feel like Mario is a really bold choice! His big ass cartoon nose and the mustache are something very specific that's not easily converted into many different styles

Especially when said moustache always appears to come out of his nose, rather than growing from his upper lip; it always reminds me of a rare 20th-century comic strip where the winner of a moustache competition is disqualified due to it all being nose hair! That's why the "Dragon Ball" version wins in my opinion. The other ten, at no fault to the artist, look like characters from their respective universes cosplaying as Mario. I was hoping for a "Studio Ghibli" version, though. Or maybe an "Tetsuwan Atom" ("Astro Boy") version, given its most famous moustache, Ban "Higeoyaji" Shunsaku (Albert "Daddy Walrus" Duncan).

I'm not always a fan of how people generally approach Araki's drawing style, but I kinda dig this one. It's mostly based on the Phantom Blood manga's art, especially on Zeppeli. With a different hat, he could have fit as a minor antagonist from Phantom Blood to at least early Stardust Crusaders. Also, HxH looks like an actual character. Malio Maschreume, Single Star Princess Hunter, Emission type.
