You are a great teacher Mr Millyard, I have no mechanical skills but I have been looking for used motor bikes to have a go at rebuilding one, your videos are inspirational. Oh and a cuppa tea and cupcake.....Just perfect☺

Wow… I paused it at 6.35 I thought I deserved a cup cake and a cup of tea. I’m so glad your sharing this tool making video, your build videos are always amazing but you need to document these little tricks so life can go on and the future generations will be able to still cook toast. We all have no words for you Alan except thank you.

As an aircraft mechanic we make special tools alot. Like an N1 wrench which is a closed end wrench riveted on the end of a rod to adjust the idle of the turbine engine on a bell 206 helicopter. Still i always seem to learn something from every video. Keep it up sir.

The best way to sync the carbs is to first ride the bike a few miles so it’s fully warmed up and hot air has also warmed the carbs. Then hook up the carb stik or gauges and see the vac levels and then shut off the motor.
@truthboomertruthbomber5125
@truthboomertruthbomber5125 Жыл бұрын
Then using the tool raise or lower the appropriate adjusters. If cyl 1 had high vacuum then it’s slide needs to be lowered a tiny amount. Vice versa for low vac. Once you’ve tweaked the errant slides fire the motor up and look at the manometer. It should be very close now. Shut the motor off and tweak the last tiny bit of imbalance out and you are done. By shutting the motor off you avoid generating a lot of heat .

Mr Millyard brilliant how to video , it kinda reminds me of a tip My father gave Me back in the 80's Trying to put longer Norton Springs in the Clutch of My 1979 CCM , putting a tube spanner over the springs and a screwdriver down the middle you can push hard on the spring holding Nuts without the springs Flexing all over the place. ( He had to do the same sort of thing on His Panther 600 back before I was born, But then He also cut corks down and restuck them on the clutch plates , as it was difficult to get spares or afford them back them, So you made do and mended stuff ) . I just love watching you work, you remind Me of Dave Davis from Wroughton Motorcycles, I spent many a happy hour talking and working with Him as He worked on His old DOT machines
