Milnor Washer Main Bearing Replacement - Part 1

Replacing main bearings and seals on Milnor models
30015, 30020, 30022 Cxx, Kxx, Sxx, Mxx, Txx and Vxx washers.

Iv been doing this work for almost two decades. On most washers a 10 ton port-a-power should be more than enough to pop the basket ( with the proper puller kit) If it doesn't, a second pump will be needed to float the basket off. its attached to threaded end of the center pilot shaft. I remember going to a local seminar that Leroy was running. When he showed this video, me and another guy from my shop started chuckling. he asked " whats so funny? Our reply " Must be nice not having 10 lbs of rust and lint around the fwd seal holder and a foot or two to work behind the machine. He got the joke. Also we came up with a way to use the puller kit to pull the fwd seal holder, race and the shaft all in one shot. ill try to post a pic of the assembly.

How did they get the Barrel out I have one the barrel hard to come out any help please.

You need to use heat between the front shaft seal holder and the main shaft. Most likely there is a rust build up between these parts. I just removed my Milnor basket two days ago and I have to heat it three times. Eventually, I got it out.

We have someone hold a long steel rod on the end of the shaft and have another guy hitting the end as hard as he can with a sledgehammer to beat the shaft end out of the basket. It's always worked but it's scary

I'm currently doing bearing change on a Milnor 42026V6J and after leaving 10 ton hydraulic puller on the basket still haven't released the basket from shaft.

The Milnor kit comes with a 30 ton center pull cylinder for the porta power. 10 just wont get it most of the time as you found out.
