I moved here in 2021 from Tallahassee, from Panama City, from Bloomington, Indiana. We had relatives that lived in Gulf Breeze, whom we visited during spring breaks (worked at fraternity at IU). I wanted to move to Florida after retirement from the USAF and spent lots of time in South Florida on TDY. LSS, Milton is now home. All he says is honest and current information. Not Mayberry, but year-round charm. CAVEAT. The current crop of Santa Rosa county representatives are HELL BENT on over development with two new developments without regard to their environmental and resources impact. Buyer BEWARE.

I was stationed at Naval Air Station Whiting Field in Milton from 1978 - 1980 as my first duty station in the Navy. I had a great time there. From boating on the Blackwater River to hanging out at Pensacola and Navarre Beach. I met many fine folks in Milton!

Very cool! I have been living in Milton for about a yeah and a half and it has been really great. My girlfriend and I have been to nearly all of these places. We love Milton but there are a few things that we wish were different. It would be nice if there were more shops/restaurants in the downtown area on willing st. We live super close to the historic district and are there most weekends. We also wish that Milton was more bike friendly. It is definitely less car centric than pace but it can still be scary to bike on some of the roads here

Great points! Yeah it’s definitely a quaint downtown. Charming but not huge by any means. Hopefully they can work on the bike friendly aspect. There are many neighborhoods/areas that don’t have any restrictions or HOA’s where you can store trucks, RVs, boats, sheds etc. Many people take advantage of that aspect and look for a laid back, no restrictions lifestyle. And what's your opinion on the people there in general? Is it like a bunch of just mixed bullshit pretty much like any other city or state where you have some good people but mostly hidden away and keeping to themselves (i don't blame them) and then u got depending on how populated Milton is, usually a fairly big amount of the pretty much well known around town type of people and well known probably in a negative way mostly who are only chasing one goal and that's to fuck tom dick and Harry jus so they them selves can get by for either that night or however long they think they can keep on lol. I hope I make a little sense with how I'm saying this. I'm just considering moving down there in the near future and I'm actually in a shitty place (Dayton, Ohio). I mean it can be good at times and there's plenty of opportunities and shit but for the most part I only seem to attract only horrible people with bad intentions in every aspect. And it includes whether it's a job I'm working, a women I'm dating or playing around with , and even friends and family, they've all shown me that no matter who u are to them or what you've done, do, etc, it makes no difference to them because one time u say no or hell ask a motherfucker to hold on a min even politely, lmao youre instantly a no good piece of shit , they dont want nothing to do with you , (until theyre in need again and believe they will be) . So it's just killing me all the way around and I have two family members down there that I know for sure aren't like that to me (they are my son's). And I'm needing to be near them asap again ... Housing is very, very high, really outrageous considering the drugs and crime and how filthy the whole place is, covered with ciggie butts everywhere which should tell you about who lives here. could be worse if you are here from somewhere else to live on someone who has been here a while tho. Well you must consider that Milton died when the interstate system was put in. Like most small towns along highway 90, the change in traffic from the highway to the interstate KILLED the downtown. It has really taken back off in the last 5-10 years. When I was a kid, Milton was a ghost town.
