My front shoe isn't Square to the blade ?

I've put it down to the plastic frame / body just isn't made square to start with. There isn't much you can do without trying to modify the plastic around the front shoe holder yourself.

Does anybody else find that the front plate is not level with the back plate for a proper flat plane? We've returned the first one and got a replacement but it seems they're all the same. Or is there a reason for that front plate to be off square?

I've examined quite a few of the Milwaukee 18V Planer, re-built a couple, only to find that they still come back with the same problems. I've put it down to the plastic frame / body just isn't made square to start with. We ended up replacing a few through the Milwaukee warranty system until the customer gets one that they're happy with. Unfortunately there isn't much else you can do.

My M18 non adjustable back plate is off plane with non adjustable drum causing snipe at end of every board. I fixed the problem by buying an adjustable rear plate Makita!!

what about the back shoe? at 0 it still looked off Is it possible to calibrate both shoes?

The millwalkee planners have no adjustment for the rear shoe or blade depth even the ryobi planner has blade depth adjustment , and to make it worse they haven't changed this planner since it came out around 8 yrs ago
