I have not had to do that yet with any of mine, but i heard you can only do that a few times before it stops working.

I have only had to do it once and its been great so far. Hopefully I wont have to do it much. Longevity after this trick is tbd.

Depends on how damaged the battery is. They absolutely hate going below a certain voltage, and the longer/more extreme this is, the more damage happens. Always charge your batteries as soon as they die

But how well does it hold a charge?

Holds a charge just like it always did before with the same charge time as well.

I have this problem on an m12 battery, any tips? 😅

While I have never tried it with a m12, I do not see any particular reason why it wouldn’t work if you had an additional m12 to “jump” it with. If you do try it please let me know!

Maybe a house fire is worth the replacement cost of a 1.0 M18 battery to you, but not me homie

That would be like saying you’re worried about jump starting your car. Using another battery to flow current into another battery isn’t exactly dangerous. Now being prepared for fires and other situations in a shop area used for work such as I am is important. As well as understanding electricity and what you’re doing. If you’re not comfortable then definitely don’t do it.

@@creekchubs I’m not comfortable doing it precisely because I understand lithium battery chemistry. Be well!

Lithium batteries can definitely be dangerous. No questioning that. But there is built in overload and discharge protection built into these batteries. Pair that with some other precautions and it’s safe to tinker with this stuff. But again if you’re not comfortable then pony up and buy new batteries. Hopefully you didn’t throw it in normal trash and you properly disposed of it at an approved facility!

@artvandelay6457 You're not comfortable doing it because you're a beta that is scared of everything. Leave the work to the men.
