Today we look at the Milwaukee 48-22-6542 long nose pliers.

Milwaukee missed an opportunity in naming these. The straight ones could be called the Deep Reach and the angled ones could have been called the Deep Reach Around 😂

Have double X blue point kit, multiple no-name hemostats in different lengths, regular and pistol long snap-on kits,long angle only knipex, and Mac long hose pullers. 2006 I used long angled for pulling spring clamps (1/4) hose off carbs on Suzuki outboards, still the best tool for that job. For everything else,and most X's use angled. 1st choice locking hemostats, 2nd pistol grip is more comfortable, 3rd knipex (fantastic for cabinet installs), and last are double x... When nothing else will work. For my small hands these are in the maybe want list. Great review including the pipe holder convention😅

Yeah I like the hemostats too, they've worked for most things that normal needle nose pliers won't work on

There's a lot of materials that aren't magnetic. 😂 I was fishing some titanium baffles out of a cleaning solvent the other night. Reached for my magnets hanging above my bench, shook my head, and went digging for long needle nose. 😂
@johngaltline99338 ай бұрын
Also very useful when you actually need to be able to pull on something, or hold something in place when any amount of force is applied. I just use cheap ones from HF, but they do the business if you're trying to pull a clip out of something, or push the clip back in. Try changing the air struts on a Town Car with a magnet and see how far it gets you.

@@chrisjones6002 it’s not the fanboys for me. But the fierce loyalty for any company. Most companies want to sell you something , no matter what it is. I choose tools based upon lifetime warranty and if it works for me not just I have to buy it.
@chrisjones60028 ай бұрын
@@Tallguy203 I agree. It's one thing to like a brand but it's a little different to swear by everything that a brand sells no matter what. I couldn't justify the cost of owning nothing but Milwaukee tools since I'm a DIYer not a pro.
@Tallguy2038 ай бұрын
@@chrisjones6002 I’m a truck mechanic. I like lifetime warranty when possible and do buy high end sometimes. Honestly if I had to grab a nut down in a tube, I'd use a magnet... Or a grabby pick up tool, not a needle nose plier Kinda stupid demo, but they made their point. 😂 They are nice though, seem well enough made, unique/useful design, reasonable ish price I ordered them in October@ Home Depot (NY) was $59.97 before tax $65.14 after We'll see how the steel jaws hold up over time I would imagine the knipex or snap-on have higher quality steel...🤷 We'll see🤞

I wouldn't be so sure they were manufactured by the U.S. engineers. Milwaukee, being entirely a NON-U.S. company probably hired someone from the Hong Kong area, where the owner of Milwaukee, TTI Industries, is from. Sadly, Milwaukee isn't an American company anymore.

The former adminiistration applied tariffs to products from China Companies either shifted their production to other countries or just lied and changed the country of origin on the packaging to avoid the stigma of the Made in China label. Vietnam was probably the most used country name in that shift.
