Great review John! I’ve had this driver since it was introduced and think it’s one of Milwaukees best 12V tools! It’s my go to in the shop, and wouldn’t be without it for installing/assembling anything from cabinets to cabinet hardware. Mine lives in a T-Stak with Kaizen foam cutouts for most used drivers etc. it’s grab and go for any job outside of the shop.

Glad I found this review as a starting sparky in commercial lighting interested in lightweight m12 gear. Could you use this versatile drill/driver for small screw terminals on its lowest torque setting and not strip out the screws whilst avoiding overtightening, as it doesn't have the impact function? Or would the m12 screwdriver (18 torque settings) or m4 screwdriver (21 torque settings) without the adjustable heads be better for this?

Great video John the Milwaukee driver is a great little tool. The only down side I found with it was the forward and reverse being on the top. first world issue I know. I used it for a few weeks and could not get use of it. so I moved to the bosh 12v driver. I found their is very little between them it lasts me a few days putting on server panels per battery.

The forward reverse is my only issue too.

@@ethanely6079, not really. With a 4 or 6 amp battery less chance of falling over. Think about it…if that was the only complaint you should run,don’t walkout and buy the tool!

@@martylucas8557 I was told that when you use the batteries with the stand that the tool falls forward because the front part of the grip doesn’t touch the ground

Milwaukee do seem pretty innovative with their battery tool line up. Have you tried driving a hole punch / Qmax cutter with it, obviously it will easily drill the pilot hole, just wondered if it would drive the actual cutter itself.

Nice review. I feel you should’ve demoed the offset chuck and the right angle adapter with the different chucks attached. Because that is the uniqueness of the Installation Driver.

I’m not a fan of the big blow-mold cases either. I just don’t have enough room for them and they take up too much space. I have the Bosch version of this, and it’s really useful. I bought it for the offset attachment more than anything - that’s the one I always have a use for.

I bought this driver a few months ago and I love it but...That forward/reverse button placement has definitely caused me problems. I don't have big hands and I do hold it like you using my middle finger on the trigger. The main issue I have with it, other than reaching it easily, is that you have to press it or the trigger in order to see if you are already in forward or reverse. I could live with the placement if they had added an LED indicator on the side that would show if it is in forward or reverse. All in all, I use it on almost every project and am overall happy. Maybe the next generation will fix this small issue.

What's the deal with the black Milwaukee box? Never seen one like that before
@JohnMcGrathManInShed2 жыл бұрын
Hitli have the rights to red boxes in Europe apparently so Milwaukee comes in black boxes over here. The black tool belt and tote bag look good though

Hi John I bought a Milwaukee 5-piece set from Screwfix. just over a year ago. the drill stopped working. the motor had to be replaced. Then the Jigsaw stop working had to replace. Now the skill saw just stopped working?? I paid over €1,100 and I'm not even a tradesman . I'm only a novice at woodwork. I saved up my money , because I thought that They where the best . very disappointed. Maybe dewalt the next time.

Milwaukee generally is good about warranty service - they should have your back on this. (Unlike Ridgid, which, despite their lifetime warranty, goes out of their way to avoid covering stuff - at least that’s the reputation.)
