Even with the weight it's a game changer for me. I live off grid, 80 miles from the nearest road, and although I have 12kwh of solar I choose not to run my equipment off of it, including the compressor. This means that I have to run the generator after moving it close enough to the site where I will use my nailer. Being a gas generator, I have to fly all my fuel in from Anchorage in my Airplane which is not free to operate. Since I am so remote an accident can become serious quickly since there are Ambulances etc closer than an hour away so not having a air hose to potentially trip on is a big deal. It is SO much easier to charge up a battery! Thanks for the video.

Ordered it in a kit with the extended magazine three weeks ago and have used it on two projects. Total game-changer. No compressor (didn't even bring it to the job, don't miss lugging it or the noise it makes) no HOSE (after years of air nailing it's hard to even imagine such untethered freedom but once you taste it there's no going back) and performance, performance, performance. Five stars! Buy one. Now.

Once again. Great informative video. Cant wait for the 2nd review after you take it through its paces. I may have some interesting info for you to use in your next "Tool Review" of the Nailer. When you put on that extra clip magazine It seems that you may be able to change from 30° to 21° by simply changing those magazines. 🤔 There is another screw in position there. You can clearly see it when you took off the original mag to install longer the one. Check it out! This could mean that if your in a situation where "code" dictates what type nail you have to use, due to nail head configuration, you can swap out mags to accommodate full head nails, 21°, or "clipped head" nails, 30° GO Vince! Nick & Sean too! ✌

It’s been many years since I’ve worked in the construction field as a farmers helper, but I still have my own DIY & miscellaneous roof jobs from time to time. I will say having a Cordless roofing nailer would be awesome for small quick patch jobs. I could see the same thing for a framing nailer, Brad nailer, & or crown stapler. Now for large jobs where you have lots of sticks to put up, or shingles to throw down, I would think pneumatic would still be the way to go. Cheers and thanks for the video. 🍻🤙
@mdeamicis
@mdeamicis 2 жыл бұрын
A year late, but I can't see why you would limit it to only patch jobs. I build sheds for the big box stores and though a shed roof is not a full house roof, I only burn half a 4ah battery for 6 bales of shingles. I run a full electric kit and it saves me a ton of time. No cord top flake out, no hose to flake out. No compressor top lug from the truck. No hose and cord management all day. And none of it to pack back p at the end of the day.

so, first - I've been waiting for Milwaukee to release this because it fits my power nailer needs. second - the short mag works for people like me who would expect to drive maybe one or two strips of nails in a workday. as for cutting the hose - it's a good idea for people like me who spend a lot of time not running power tools. I can work with a little bit heavier tool in exchange for being able to grab it, use it for a few minutes, and put it away, again. if it's going to be used pretty much continuously - you want the lighter weight and higher endurance of the tool with the cord/hose. case in point - my corded drill can run pretty much continuously under load for hours without overheating. my cordless - I've learned the hard way that if I run it continuously long enough to burn through a battery - it needs to rest and cool off, because if I overheat it, I burn out the control electronics.

Won't the 30 degree hold twice as many nails? Also, someone said the paper can break and jam... the plastic 22 degree absolutely does too bro. Environmentally and functionally l like 30. I have the 21 22 degree Milwaukee, I bought it because I couldn't find the Dewalt anywhere. Now I don't like old Dewalt drivers and they were mediocre but this new battery craze woke them up. I used my friends Dewalt, 30 degree, on a few jobs and yes the Milwaukee is more rugged, but it's way bulkier, heavier, harder to slip between joists, and the 22 degree holds far fewer nails. I like Milwaukee over Dewalt any day but that Dewalt framer kept up in every way and never jammed. It was superior in capacity, weight, and maneuverability. If you're a big guy or a spartan or a ninja and you're framing mansions I'd take the Milwaukee. Any body else, I recommend Dewalt

Seems to be a nice set up. I just ordered 2 of the kits in 21 degree . I prefer the 21 degree over the 30 degrees. The paper on the 30 degree has a tendency to break apart of become loose . Causing the guns to jam. Just wear safety glasses with the 21 degree because of the plastic

What’s the best battery framing & trim nailers?
@mikemorgan5015
@mikemorgan5015 4 жыл бұрын
The 3ah HO battery is only 4oz lighter than the XC 5ah battery. Heavier, but not a lot heavier. With 66% more runtime. But, if every ounce counts, it only take about 5 sec to swap packs. The 2ah is another 3.8oz lighter still at 15.8 oz on my scale. The nails were driving deeper in bump mode because you were eliminating most of the rebound/kickback by driving the tool down and applying extra weight to the head of the tool with both hands. Look how deep the nose piece dug in compared to when you were in single shot mode. Framing is usually a one handed operation. But it's good to know if you have a known hard spot or need one sunk deep, 2 hands will get you another 1/8 or so penetration. The gen1 18ga nailer got great reviews early and then, suddenly it didn't. I bought it based on the early reviews. While it's still a good gun, the gen2 is much better. Therefore, I will give the early adopters some time with this one before I spring for it. I'm still using an old Bostich N16 air nailer that might be older than me. Rebuilt a couple of times for cheap and still works like a new one. I am eagerly awaiting good field tested reviews on this one. That it took an extra year before release is actually a good sign that they wanted this one right before release. Time will tell. Keep up the good work!

Seasoned pro carpenter and general contractor over 30 years. Got a brand new Fuel 30 degree nailer. Test loaded with an Air Nail 16 short clip. Not sinking nail. Good 1/4 to 3/8" high above 2x or 4X stock. Depth adjustment makes no difference. You would think Milwaukee would have a troubleshooting guide in their manual. Especially for nails not driving all the way. Nope. I have brad and 15 gauge finish nailers. both working fine. Any suggestions? Manual states remove battery every time you want to replace a clip? Ridiculous, who does that?

Plus less for someone to borrow on the job site / steal … lol . For those who read this far , yes I did reverse that saying purposefully to grab your attention. This definitely is working smarter and not harder … lol lord knows anyone who has ever worked with a compressor knows and appreciates the silence . Ahh no cardboard to lug around also with customers complaining about the noise and vibration on their floors . I just love Milwaukee tools .

@Mrcccpown
@Mrcccpown 3 жыл бұрын
I believe the Milwaukee outweighs the dewalt framing gun in every aspect except one thing... the framing gun head for Milwaukee is really strange while dewalt you can shoot nails at an angle with no problems. Milwaukee you have to push the head into the 2x4 to fire. So trying to shot the nail at an angle can cause it to slip before you shoot your shot. That’s the only issue I see with mine but this is my first framing gun, so I still have to play around with it.

I was too, until it arrived yesterday significantly heavier than the dewalt and without the extended magazine. I’m not sure which one I’ll keep now.

found that theres a little mod you can do to magazine to allow to use both 30 degree and 21 degree magazine on 1 gun.

I feel like they could have added a coil magazine with this. Wonder if they will 🤔

You got the framing nailer 🥺 Still haven’t got my nailer yet. Missed the depot ore-order, So, soon as they get em in stock. Ya know I’ll be there in line first 😅 Thx for the vid, & making me want it even more😢 Still wonder if a 21° ext mag will fit in the 30° nailer, know it’s not “supposed” to work, but I wonder b/c there’s IS a screw hole, in front of the bottom screw you removed in the 30. Kinda makes ya wonder 😉 Cheers✌🏼

Hey Vince, Looks like pretty powerful nailer! I have 2 questions: Is it really as quiet as it sounds watching your video? Did you try fitting the 3Ah HO battery to see if it does fit? Cause you made a comment in the beginning of your review about Milwaukee does not include a 3Ah HO. Great review Thanks

Hey Vince, can you test to see if you can use either the 21° or 30° magazines in that bad boy? Thanks Bro and thanks to the whole gang

I would LOVE to know the answer to this as well. Want to pull the trigger on one today , but prefer the 20 degree. Seems like only the 30 degrees are out.
