My sons bought me the Milwaukee fuel M 18 hatchet for my birthday this year… Great little Saw! I’m pretty sure this is a tool only tool, so if you’re not on the Milwaukee M18 platform, you may want to look at another brand. I happen to have a few tools and batteries so this little chainsaw is a great addition to my collection and will definitely get a lot of use.

Nice little saw! Actually, It used to be popular to trim the limb as close to the trunk as possible, but that actually can lead to your tree getting sick. Instead of cutting at the tree trunk, cut at the branch collar right before the tree trunk so the tree can recover easily.

I bought the M12 version for my wife and I use it myself. The M12 is quite a bit litter but still a workhorse.

little bit too close to the trunk on that cut. If the wound is oval or larger than the branch diameter you've cut too close or at the wrong angle. The tree will close the wound faster if it is smaller.

They're really great for small jobs. Less than half the weight of a small chainsaw.

Nice demonstration, but you should still be wearing eye protection. Even small saws can cause damage to your body.

Fifty-six years old climbing a tree - with a chain saw in one hand! Good piece of gear though. I have the larger M18 chainsaw and have since sold my no-longer-used Stihl gas model. No comparison.

@@JamminClemmons Shop carefully! There are great deals to be found. I got mine with high output 6AH battery, charger and shipping for $218 + tax.

@@racebiketuner Thanks for your advice. I wound up discovering an overstock with Home Depot. The M18 *WITH* charger and battery -for $300. I purchased the 2 year warranty just to be sure. The other box stores had these for over $400! Happy sawing, Mr. RaceBiker!!!!!

Looks like the cut is pretty clean. If you wanted to cut big lumber (like 4x4s, 6x6s, stacks of 2x4’s etc) that you wouldn’t use a Skilsaw in, would this cut straighter down than a Sawzall?
