The final volume of slides taken by JL Krotzman of the Milwaukee Road in western Wisconsin. Scenes include the MOW facilities in Tomah where the motorcars were refurbished, the 4R rehab of the Valley Sub, a couple derailments, and the arrival of the Soo Line in 1986.

Yes. The line ran from near Sparta to Viroqua and also operated a branch to Coon Valley after the La Crosse and Southeastern went under in the 1930's.

Brian, you have several great videos you have posted. But this particular one caught my eye! My name is Mark and I own and just finished restoring that particular car #8035 shown at 3:17. It is Fairmont MT14 made for the Milwaukee Road in 1970. The picture shown is more then likely taken at the Tomah shops when the shops enclosed cab and installed the sides, doors and a heater in it for the cold wisconsin weather and repainted it. Is it all possible I can get a copy of the slide / picture of it?

WHY UNION PACIFIC OR WHATEVER RAILROAD BOUGHT IT
@sword3349
@sword3349 2 жыл бұрын
The railroad was on it's last legs in the mid 80s, and it was basically falling apart. It's trackage was sold to the SOO Line who then sold it to the Wisconsin Central, which was then absorbed by Canadian National (along with other Midwestern railroads like the Illinois Central) to become part of their rail network.
