Milwaukee Tools polyester & steel fish tape review

Here we have 4 of Milwaukee’s fish tapes.
This is the review of both the steel and the polyester.
Some people call these conduit snakes. They are usually used by electricians and data techs.

I use 2 of these to run into 20mm conduit.
I also take apart one of the polyester cases to see how it works and whether it can be used to go two seperate directions.

Cheer Matt Just brought the 15m steel fish, for corro with existing fiber patch cords, the normal 30m poly in yellow tube binds to much. I wish they let you take the poly one of its reel easier, that’s a major pain

Poly tapes are good for going through empty conduit runs and bends to get your pull string or a few light conductors through, yes (recommended sizes and guages of course) but they lack the rigidity to muscle through situations where you need to add in a conductor or two to a conduit already occupied. You need to do this at times, and yes, you can sacrifice a ground wire that already is in a run to use it as a pull string and replace it with a new one when you pull through the new wire(s) but that's NOT always an option. Poly tapes don't replace steel ones, but they do have their advantages. By the way, I own and have used both types.

What kind of lineman tool did you use to strip the wires, and where can I get them? They look like Knipex

They’re really for different jobs. Steel is great for much longer conduit runs that have no bends or wider bents. Polyester is for short runs with tight bends.
