Su does that because it's available. Other monkeys may not have a fresh batch of puppies and a nursing dog available What that little monkey is doing is perfectly normal and often seen in the wild. That monkey doesn't have a mirror to see that she's not a dog. What Su sees is a hospitable being that has warmth and milk and most importantly fur to hold on to and to cling. As far as Su is concerned that dog is the one and only mama

While dogs are indeed domesticated, they are often called on to provide milk for ailing and otherwise orphaned animals. Wet nursing has been around since mankind.
