I love how she's playing a role that her "Funny Girl" predecessor Babs Streisand also made famous - except that Mimi's more "appropriately-age" for the role than Babs ever was. Mimi makes a GREAT "Dolly"!

That he was born male but played her as female?? NOW, when he plays “her” as male, that’s a gender bender. “Horace, when we marry, we can share on razors!”

While it is nicely staged, it is not the original Gower Champion staging. I assume Lee Roy Reams did not stage this production based on the fact that it is so different. By the way, Mr Reams was also an excellent Cornelius in the late '70s... in fact, the best Cornelius I've personally seen!

I used to help my boyfriend Jack take care of Mimi's two gorgeous Afgan dog's Dolly and Shadow when she was on tour with this show and many others....always wondered what the show looked like...now I know.....Mimi...I sure do miss Jack and the dogs....hope youre doing great...miss u too, funny girl....*)

Because not enough people went to those theaters that were hosting the summer stock tours. Hell, they have enough trouble filling the seats in the fall, winter and spring let alone summer where predominantly TV stars would tour.
