My little bloke lived with my parents. I tried him on all the different foods & he would change his mind. When he lived with my parents he was given cooked chicken, beef & sausages + steak with lamb. He ate very well but was very fussy on food.

@@pennywinstanley7975 Try him on cooked chicken. I swore I would add rice or pasta if I had another one. Towards the end I bought him expensive dog food & he used to gulp it down.

@@matthewbrown6163 I have tried with chicken and lamb at first he ate it but now he walks away, even salmon he ate at the beginning but now not interested, expensive dog food of 100% natural ingredients, but noooo, he is very energetic, so not sick, so now I am not going to worry anymore, if he doesn’t eat it then he will just have to go hungry until he has no option but to eat it, too fussy, yet he will gulp down banana every time, dog treats, toast and Novell he loves, lettuce leafs he cries for when I take out the packet and barbecue ribs he likes. 🙄

Oh my😍 one of mine was fussy with food as a puppy the other one not so much. When they were older, the fussy one couldn't get enough, the eater got fussier. Hopefully Mimi will grow out of it. Mimi you are a cute sassy little thing 😍😍

Hii.. need help I hv shitzu male puppy. He is 2.5 months old.. I bought him when he was 45 days nw I'm giving him royal canin baby milk and mini puppy food.. nowadays he s not eating anything.. pls let me know wt should I give him?? please😥😥😥 I really love him a lot😥😥 wnt to make him a healthy pls 🙏

Shih tzu are very stubborn. And it takes a lot to make them eat. Try checking if your puppy readily eats anything else other than royal canin, such as any treats or fruits or vegetables that are good for dog. If they are sick they won’t eat anything and would starve to make their stomach right. Mimi also didn’t eat for few days because she was just fed up of the usual. We introduced other wet/dry food along with the usual food. Never entirely change their usual dog food, it would upset the stomach, introduce it slowly. But if he continues for more than 2 days please consult the vet, there could be other reasons.

My Shih Tzu is exactly the same, I have to make a game out of it by throwing her biscuits across the floor then I move fast towards it saying ‘I get it!’ then only will he run after it as he doesn’t want me to get it, as I put my hand towards it he quickly picks it up in his mouth and then swallows it, what I have to do to get him to eat tasty little dog biscuits! he loves crunchy lettuce leafs, banana, rib bones, he even turns his nose up with chicken and lamb but will eat the bones of them, Shih Tzu’s are very picky eaters, I just wish he would eat dog food as that is where all the nutrients are for them.

That’s so accurate, Mimi needs someone to appreciate every time she tries to swallow one pellet and then may be she may think of eating again. I literally have to force feed her and I think she has grown to hate it more now. Sometimes mixing it with small bits of treat does the trick. But that happens if it’s a lucky day for me🙁

@@MimiShihTzu try my little game with her, Shih Tzu’s are known to protect their food, if you make a game of it by throwing 1pellet at a time across the floor making sure she sees you tossing it, instinct in them want to run and get it especially if you are walking fast towards it making her think that you are going to get it before her saying : ‘I get it!’ then slowly with your bend down and with your hand pretend you are going to get it saying all the time ‘I get it!’ but let her take it when she picks it up with her mouth then say good girl! sometimes my Cody will hold it in his mouth but I put my hand towards his mouth saying ‘where’s it gone?! and then he swallows it cause he doesn’t want me to get his pellet, I repeat it over and over by until I see he has a fair amount in him. It works all the time. Your Shih Tzu is so beautiful, my boy is only 8 months old and he is my fur baby and love him to pieces. Let me know if it works for you.

Check for ear infection or dandruff. Ideally they should not stink after bath. In such case you need to consult vet and preferably use medicated shampoo.
