Hi Mimi, I just found your channel having seen your videos from a few years ago on Saints Unscripted (: I am in the process of putting in an application at BYU as an older student. I am primarily Buddhist and go to LDS church services. Are there any older students at all or is it all younger people only??? Will people be o.k. with a Buddhist being there??? I really love your energy and your joy! (:

@@freemangriffin4953 hi, thanks so much for your support on my videos! Yes, I think you would love BYU! I had a few older students in my classes and really enjoyed getting to know them. And there aren't many non-LDS students at BYU, so you may feel a bit different, but I would hope/assume that people would still treat you with love and respect :)

Tip: On the first day, when a student takes a class at BYU, that student has to go to that class thinking that they will get an "A". When you go in, analyze the professor, the textbook, the syllabus, the homework, and the classroom. Sometimes a professor doesn't seem right, or the textbook doesn't seem right. If it seems too hard for you, drop the class. Sometimes taking another professor, or having a different textbook, is a better decision. BYU is a Tri-Semester system which is Fall, Winter, and Spring. Use the Summer Semester to make up, or catch up, if you dropped a course during the Tri-Semester. Also consider taking the class at the local community college in your home state if you have to go back home during the summer. In every course you take, always try to get an "A". If you can't do that, then just give your best. STEM majors are extremely hard at BYU. If you want to be a doctor, you have to get nearly straight "A"s. Overall, BYU is a hard school, compared to the norm university. Don't go to BYU just because you are Mormon (LDS). Choose a college or university where you WILL succeed and be happy.

Mimi, how do you balance college and a marriage? Do most people get married during or after college?
@Mimi.Bascom4 жыл бұрын
Hi Celeste, that’s a great question! It was definitely hard to balance since I was a super overachiever in school and took my education really seriously! I know people who have gotten married during and after college, so it’s common to do either way! The biggest thing that helped me balance it was scheduling time with Eric! Even though we live together, we scheduled specific times for meals, dates and workouts together and that really helped! 😊

@cottoncandy36304 жыл бұрын
No, but you are required to take religous courses and follow the honour code so that's kinda meh. But the tuition is fairly cheaper than other schools (especially for international students) and it has fairly good education so

Eman it’s a LDA ( mormon) school, majority of ppl there are mormon, I believe all profs are LDS. They do accept some non LDS ppl but majority of them would still be Christian. There’s specific rules there that other ppl might not want to follow, especially BYU Idaho, they are really strict about certain things.
