Hi! So funny. I just picked up this pattern and some red velvet the other day for a V-Day dress. This will be my first garment using a pattern. I am enjoying your online sewitacademy projects as well. Thank you for this! ❤

A lot of the tip videos you shared mention it’s recommended not to cut velvet on the fold but cut “open”. Do you still cut on the fold? I am still learning and don’t want to mess up this good fabric. Help!

I love your flannel shirt jacket! The purples look great on you. Beautiful pink dress. Makes me wish my waist were smaller and my hips a little bigger. Sigh.

I love this!!! I'm going to check your website for breathable knits. I never get what makes a fiber moisture wicking, but it would be the coolest thing to have a square neck moisture wicking bodycon dress!

Nice pattern and especially love extending the facing to become almost a lining, for a smooth appearance. Question . . . why did you choose to sew the sleeve closed, then set it into the armhole . . . usually I do this the other way around, first attaching the sleeve head to the dress, then sewing the sleeve closed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

Thank you for this instructional. The fabric I am using is an active sport type of knit. It has 4-way stretch. Do you think that it could be used as the facing?
@maryrhudy9250 Жыл бұрын
So, if I wanted to make it sleeveless then can the facing work for the armholes, too? THANK YOU so much for the power mesh idea. That way I won't look like an overstuffed sausage.

Mimi G. Could you please put a handful of videos up on here with tasters of your sewing Academy? I'm saying just do a little course curriculum guide to what all the courses entail as I am intrigued. Can you also do a repair and alterations course in your Academy course line-up? This would be extremely and I mean extremely helpful and beneficial to people. I look forward to your response. Pure.

Sorry for the dumb question but what does it mean to baste the sleeves?
@lizleblanc4 ай бұрын
Are you still here? It means to make a temporary stitch. You can do this by hand using longer stitches or on the machine by increasing the stitch length...usually to 4 or 5. You do this to hold the seam in place until you do a more permanent stitch later on during the construction.
