I am 76 yrs old and want to try wearing wigs. It is so easy to keep them up. Right now I go to the Beauty Salon every week to get my hair done. I have seen so many styles Iike. First let me say, I love watching you two! It's about wigs, but it really is more of a social visit for me. I have a question as I am fairly new to wigs, coming off of toppers...I just cannot seem to keep a wig grip from sliding up my nape at the back. I have two types and have tried loosening and tightening. I've also tried a wig cap with or without. Everything slides up on me and eventually slides back from my hairline too. I used It Stays but it seems to make my head sore/sensitive by the hairline and further back because everything feels like it is pulling. Help! What am I doing wrong?? PS I am a 21.5" and an 11.5 ear to ear.

I also had a hard time with the topper to wig transition- for the reasons you mention. I finally cut my hair to 1/2” long after seeing a video which talked about how wigs would stay on short hair “like Velcro”. And the adjuster straps really help once you get the tightness just right. It’s an extreme solution, but I’ve never regretted it! Before I cut my hair off, I did sew a 3/4” stretch band to a wig- from ear tabs and around nape. This did work once you get it in the right position and length.

@@cherylj7460 Thanks I'm going to do it. i will get a SHORT cut and make the move! I am unsure about the best grips tho. I ordered two diff ones but I can't find the one with the hooks-just velcro which seems to now be too stretched out

@@edandcathychristensen7978 After the big cut, I’m able to go without a grip. I’m glad- I don’t like them. I do have an Estetica that will be more secure with a grip. They run a little larger, I’m same size as you.

Bobby pins are more 'grippy' I have found. I use two crossed over each other like an X where needed.

I do use a wig grip, but how do I get my hair from slipping out of wig?

All my wig grips slide right off my head. The only ones that don't are the plastic ones with the little spikes. Any tips? xoxoxo

I have the same problem. I use two bobby pins crossed over each other like an X and facing down, to grab my own hair and the grip, I think it helps a bit but I am finding getting the right wig fit affects the grip movement too. I (finally) cut my hair short on the back and I tried putting 'It Stays' on my nape and it helped. But I also found it pulled my sensitive nape hair so you have to practice how/where to apply that as well.

I just got my Jett. It is very flat! It looks like a bad hair day I have used numerous products, ( wig wax, .piece out cream, wig hair spray, and its still flat! What's next?

Advanced French is so cute. I was always afraid to get it because it seemed so short. But why does the blonde version look so much nicer than the brown one? The blonde looks much fuller, with more body.
