I am a Hmong Leeg daughter, i am very impress of the ending of the switch. I know the feeling of being with a Hmong dawb it’s very hard. Our words are a twist. My husband is Hmong dawb he doesn’t understand Hmong Leeg or know to speak it. The words have a good meaning, the song hits the spot. It gives a good/ bad vibe how back then OG would always convince Hmong leeg should date their Hmong leeg and Hmong dawb should date their own kind because the language. I once dated a Hmong dawb before I met my husband his family didn’t like me because I am Hmong leeg. I was willing to learn to speak. It wasn’t still good enough. He left me.. I’m happy to say thank you to him. I found my husband. He loves me even though I am Hmong leeg.
@hangster55910 күн бұрын
Have never heard a single OG in my life that said that. It all depend on the people and relative you grew up with on what they believe. I am too Hmoob Leeg At the end of the day, it's just a language dialect different, it's not a whole different language that barrier us. OG just have bad takes on it especially in this modern time we live in, xab thoj movie on it tho is pretty funny XD

Beautiful song, and I do feel sad that this still exists today. I'm white and married my green husband, but I am truly grateful he and my parents (in laws) never once made me feel different from them. They always say, "We're all Hmong". They're so loving and never once forced me to speak green. They told me I could speak either. Whatever is comfortable for me. My parents on my side never made my husband feel different, too. They all say "as long as we love each other, they're happy". I do hope that our Hmong people will change and love everyone the same.

I can’t find the right words to fathum how beautiful and artistic of a song this is… The melody, the vocals, the build up, the instruments, the guitar solo, the emotions, the story telling, the bpm, a perfect pace to set the tone. I was losing my mind listening to this song from start to end! And then you hit us with a couple green lines at the end to top it all off?! Saying you learned green in hopes and questions of continuing the love story?! NO YOU DIDN’T! 😭 It was like watching your team hit a buzzer beater to win the game. No way you just did that! That was crazy. I wasn’t expecting that at all. My heart my lung! Felt like I was watching a sadass kdrama. This song really drew me in. I felt the emotions like I was the main character 💀 Thanks for the song! 💙

I feel this song isn't necessarily about marriage within different dialects. It's also about the lengths some will go to in order to make our relationship work out. We will try to learn new ways, new things, even learn a different language/dialect and what not only to find out in the end that our partner isn't as committed as we thought. It hurts to know you're willing to do so much for another person but to them, you're replaceable. At the end of the song, she learned Hmoob nstuab but he left her and already had someone else.

I love it! You did an amazing job of portraying a story through the song. The way you control your voice, the emotions, the tone, melody, and everything is perfect. The repetition of the chorus to build the climax and ending was beautiful. I think better word choices could have been made, but regardless, it was beautifully done.
one of the few Hmong songs that does not feel flat throughout the song. there's ebs and flows and fluctuations.

I remember during our khi tes party everyone told me, “You married into a Hmong ntsuab family so you NEED and HAVE to learn how to speak our dialect.” Even some of my side of the family told me the same thing. Married for 6 years and I dont speak it fully. I still mix my Hmong white and Hmong green words.😅 It’s hard understanding it at first but the more you’re around it you come to understand and pick up their words without realizing it.

I love this song 🎶 it really hit hard in the heart. I am Hmong dawb and my husband is Hmong ntsuab. It’s quite difficult to learn in my experience b/c his family doesn’t actually communicate with me in anyway and his distant family are outside of the state so we don’t often see or surround his Hmong ntsuab family. Therefore, I have a more difficult time learning the dialect. My Hmong is very fluent either. So I personally feel that his parents don’t like me at all. It’s very difficult and honestly emotionally draining but I’m grateful that my side of the family have noticed my progress in learning
