Without a doubt, Laos' largest festival.. and this year did not disappoint! An absolute cultural spectacle! All of Laos wrapped up into this one event. A must see for anybody travelling to Laos at the end of November.

Yes, That was the dilemma I had. Everytime I searched Lao Miss universe, the top hits on Google came up as Miss Universe Laos. So I searched Australian Miss Universe.. same thing, Miss Universe Australia. Thai.. Miss Universe Thailand. So that's what I went with. When you think about, that's how they're introduced at the pageant.. MISS UNIVERSE LAOS 💃👏 Both are correct, one title covers it all though. Can't be Miss Universe Laos if you're not Miss Lao 😉👍

The headline should have been, " Miss Universe Laos meets Mina ". It was very gracious of Mina to take time out from the jumping castle, so that, that lady could have her photo taken with her. What about the line up of people to get their photo taken, with the lady that got her photo taken with Mina.

Google Maps spells a town in Sekong as Dak Cheung. I recently saw a small coffee shop there named Starduckchung. There is also a Starduckchung Coffee Shop in Viengchan. Dak Cheung is an interesting and beautiful town on a lake. Dak Chueng is currently the hub for the installation of a big wind farm. I think it would make an interesting vlog the next time you are in the area. I know a person who is working on the project so I could get you information about just where they are working.

Just in case somebody wonders. I was told the following, and I trust my source. The dragons you see in the video are water dragons ( fish head ) and the spirit animal of the Mekong River is the Seven Headed Water Dragon you see at some temples. I was very taken with all the unique dragons in Laos when I was there. Not like most other dragon statues you are use to from Japan and China. I did not see any in Thailand and I have not yet been to Vietnam or Cambodia....

Great question skip. The people searching us have always worn the same uniform at all major events in Vientiane, which are the colours of the Lao Youth Union. Taken from Wikipedia... "(The Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union (Lao: ສູນກາງຊາວໜຸ່ມປະຊາຊົນປະຕິວັດລາວ) is a mass organisation in Laos, dedicated to mobilising young people throughout the country with a view to contributing to national development. It is the youth wing of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the ruling party of Laos. Originating in 1955 as the Youth Combatant Association and now comprising some 243,500 registered members (aged 15-35), the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union has a particular focus on the fields of information, media, entertainment, art and music. The LPRYU operates at central, provincial, municipal, district and village levels and co-operates with foreign countries and international organisations in a wide range of programme activities. Wow....beautiful Temple, beautiful event and beautiful people. And SO MANY PEOPLE. In my whole long life living in the 2 largest cities in the USA I have never attended a public event with so many people. We can't accommodate them anyway since we don't have huge open plazas like this one in the city. Got to allow the billionaire developers to build, build more, and overbuild. Curious if you have a rough estimate of how many people were in attendance???

Hey brother Todd,,,for a festival video,,this one was extra special! Nice that my niece could take time out of her schedule! 😂its completely entertaining for me,,to watch learning and experiencing new things. Beauty was the festival theme i believe. From the gorgeous old temple,,to the interesting and in some cases outstanding construction styles of some of the indigenous peoples. Even all the food had a special glow. And finally,,we get to my favorite arena of beauty,,,the women,,so many different types of beauty, some delicate, some sturdy,,like they could kick my ass in a rugby game,,and so so many looks from the pure Lao ladies,,to many beautiful looks from the indigenous ladies. Then there was all the great looking food,,probably prepared by some of the beautiful women (no divas in Lao,,,) i bet there were some beautiful mega-tables hidden somewhere at the festival. Lol😅😂 i truly do appreciate the hard work from you and Neenee. I tried my best to convey that to Neenee yesterday. You may have to interpret a bit,, but you're correct,,it comes down to the confidence thing.95 percent of the time,,i dont have to think about what shes saying. Most of the time her pronunciation is great. I would definitely appreciate a turn aroud the festival. Thanks for sharing, buddy! Mina bo bina,,your Uncle Marlon loves you! Ttyl,,,Marlon 😂
