Despite never seeing the killing of children other than Clervie on screen, we see a sword half-buried with the Bullet Fruit accessory the blonde girl at the start had, meaning she was also killed. Also the "story" the previous Knave told at the beginning of the animation seems to be implied true, in which case that would mean all children other than Peruerehave been killed, perhaps not all by her but by other children who were later also killed. There's also the obvious age gap between Peruere and Freminet, it wouldn't have made sense for them to have grown up together...

I highly doubt the boy is Freminet, the hair is different, the boy lacks freckles and the boy has different eyes. Also, it would make sense if Freminet was a toddler at this time considering Peruere looks like a preteen or in her early teens when she defeats the previous Knave, meaning they would probably have an age gap of a decade, give or take, which seems accurate considering Freminet is implied to be an adult.

to me this gave bad ending version of Bronya's time in the orphanage vibes. Clervie gives Seele wanting to see the sea vibes, the Mother is kinda like Cocolia and her mistreatment of the kids and rather than how Bronya's story went, Arlecchino killed Mother and took over. i still think shes a Raven expy but in the Ei way (Ei is like Kallen and Mei but with Sakura's backstory) where they have an alternate history from a different character to the one they technecally also match. its absolutely incredible, i love this animation, this is just something i thought about watching

Now Shaoji has COMPLETELY turned Honkai Star Rail around with the Penacony arc, where before it Genshin was still making more money than HSR. Post-Penacony, EVERYONE is praising "Peakacony" and HSR made $150k last month while Genshin barely made $50k. It's a sad thing in its own way that as she grew to be head of the House of the Hearth she would rather be a 'cold and unfeeling Father' rather than a false warm and loving 'Mother'. funfact, clervie wasn't unalived by arle - if you watch closely her sword is stuck in her body as she fell, whilst you can see arlecchino is holding her own in her hand - which means it was her own sword that unalived her, not arles - as well as mother saying the flower (clervie) should have been pruned (unalived) long ago and not waited until it wilts (unalived herself) - at least that's my opinion :)

Something came to mind... I don't think we heard the name of "Mother" at all in this time and also the name Peruere. I'm thinking that this might be a similar thing with Aventurine in Star Rail. In that how he killed the previous Aventurine and took his name at the end of it, when she killed "Mother" and was made a Harbinger she took her "Mother's" name of Arlecchino. That's the theory I'm going with. And if that is the case, If I had a nickel for every hoyo character that killed their master and took their name I would have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

In the trailer I think it was mentioned Arlecchino choose Lyney as the possible future of the 'King' which in the animetion Arlecchino ultimately becomes sort of the King, but the 'Mother' died before she could be the 'one true King'. And how to be the 'King'? In the past, the children were forced to fight each other until one stand alone champion. I'm thinking Arlecchino might will do something similar, but have Lyney fight her along with his siblings.
