@sirMYOMIN Yep, and because Aventurine (an important guest) "died" in the dreamscape, it demonstrated that the Family had messed up big time, giving Jade and Topaz a good opprotunity to blackmail Old Oti and the representatives of Penacony into submission to their credit system (rule-over). (It's kinda similar to a monarchy, a "free" nation, controlled by another faction's rules.) And I won't even start talking about Sunday's part in the family's screw up.

When the drip marketing happened, I thought it was weird for Sunday and Tingyun Fugue to run at the same time. I figured this would be another Penacony Continuance focusing solely on Sunday, and Tingyun was going to get a sequel Companion mission to the one where we launched her stuff into space to show how she was revived. But now I get why they did it like this, because Sunday and Tingyun are polar opposites of each other. Sunday started at the pinnacle and fell from grace into just a normal person after his defeat. He's a fugitive in his own home and has to flee it, even having to meet with his own sister under a disguise. Throughout this patch, he underwent a kind of spiritual revival, and needs to abandon Ena's power and throw out his former identity in order to remake himself. Tingyun was just an ordinary Foxian who was elevated into Fugue. She needs to get back home, but can't because of Phantylia, and she meets with her mother figure to tell her that. Throughout this patch, she had already undergone her physical revival with the help of Ruan Mei, and now needs to embrace Nanook's power and reclaim her identity. Finally, Sunday was the player of his own game, while Tingyun was a pawn in Phantylia's game. Sunday was a villain, while Tingyun was a victim. But there is one similarity. Both are lost individuals undergoing a starward journey in order to find themselves again. Poetry.

2.7 was great. I don't get why people complain about the "yapping" and the lack of gameplay. It's a turn based RPG and not just a regular turn based game. The story and the "yapping" is a core part of the game.

I really wish we got to see more of Fugue, especially the reaction of the crew upon finding out she’s alive. Fugue really felt like an afterthought for a lot of this quest. Honestly I wish the time was spent more on Sunday, and Fugue’s stuff could’ve been a companion mission instead. We haven’t gotten a lot of companion missions throughout 2.X, at least it feels like we’ve been getting less.

Damn Robin's VO missing for that conversation sucks, I play with JP myself but I always look forward to watching these reactions to the new portions of the story so I can experience the EN VO on top of seeing the actual reactions. Especially missing that specific portion is so sad since it's meant to be such an emotional scene, I really hope the EN VO problems get solved sooner rather than later it's so unfortunate for everyone who plays the game in EN. Welt really is a great character - powerful, empathetic, warm hearted but also resolute and knowing when to fight - and when to offer a hand to even former enemies in need. If you want to see more great Welt moments, I would suggest reading the "Alien Space" Honkai Impact 3rd manga (easily found online via google), which depicts some moments from Honkai Impact 3rd along with the transition Welt made to Honkai Star Rail. There's a really amazing line from Welt in there in the closing chapters - if you don't want to read the whole thing I'll quote the line and context below. (Spoiler alert!) Welt and Void Archive (a cold, calculating AI) are stranded out in space, drifting and waiting to run out of air and supplies, and reminsicing. Welt explains that once upon a time, he had trusted someone who came to him for help, and how that had come back to bite him when that person attacked Welt to try to take his powers. And how that lead Welt into lying to that man's daughter out of kindness, to try to keep the image of her father being a good man, one that would sacrifice for others and not who would sacrifice others for his own goals. Yet even that turned out badly, with the girl eventually burning herself up for the sake of others as well. Void Archive comments that clearly Welt had learned nothing, always loving to play the hero - and this was Welt's answer. "I used to believe that kindness is the best gift a civilisation can give, and I still do. Just because I once misplaced my kindness, doesn't mean I should turn away and bury it for good." -Welt has really been through a lot in his journeys, and he wasn't always as strong or as of such firm willpower as he is now. And yet, he's definitely flourished even in his retirement years, bringing a wealth of experience and life knowledge to both the crew and ourselves. Having a mirroring philosophy to his is definitely a boon to the world!

Yeah -- the "Known Issues" news tidbit mentioned it was due to scheduling conflicts but that they'd be re-adding the missing voices in the near future. (It COULD be due to the VA strike and Hoyo moving to a different non-struck VA agency and therefore new contracts needed to be handled, but that's speculation and not actual concrete fact.)

In terms of content creators and regular players, most of us already know the strike is the reason for the missing voices this patch. @@valhalla5614 "scheduling issues" likely caused by the strike since Genshin was recorded at a struck studio until recently and the VAs were advised to not promote Hoyo games. It's why Jing Yuan's VA stopped streaming hoyo games until very recently he started again after Genshin switched to a new studio. Seele and Aventurine VAs had also stopped streaming them for a period (they've been back recently too). VA is recorded months in advance, so those who were present in the patch were likely scheduled recordings before the strike started, while those who were muted likely hadn't recorded yet when the strike started.

I can’t help but feel the irony that we weren’t allowed to have Robin or Himeko’s English VAs because of the voice actor strike, whereas Sunday’s VA- a person pretty much _everyone_ wants gone given what an utter shithead he’s proven himself to be by now- is apparently going to be with us for the foreseeable future
