He's AMAZING! Can't wait to max him out. btw. I'd say SAR is the way to go with him. He has his strong attacks all the time plus that shield,he can't get hit at all so his soul trait will always be in play. And as soon as that shield vanishes a new one is ready to go.

There's something pretty cool about him : Bombardment + Weaken Defense + Fullscreen + 20% special move damage from his soul trait (80 if you manage to complete the Tsukishima build) + 150% from a potential double tenshintai build = I'm pretty sure we have here the most powerful nuker in the entire game.

Now I'm not saying he's bad, but he's still underwhelming for a brand new manga character we've been hyped about for months. if they gave him frenzy instead of berserker and a permanent soul link instead of "lose one hp you don't have a link anymore" bullcrap. Also his 3rd SA has a chance to miss

Well, what can I say? I agree with you. Don't get me wrong, I really like hybrid characters since they give you more flexibility when it comes to builds and I really appreciate when Klab tries to renew its content by implanting new game mechanics. But the shield just doesn't cut it imo. It's a nice addition, and as this video shows it can really come in handy in some situations, but this new shield only cannot make Byakuya stand out from the other characters as he should have as a blood war character. Hell, he can't even stand out from the older hybrids : TT Koga and Mila Rose have frenzy and good status ailments, Chojiro has about the same attack stat, debilitator on everything and a charge strong, Wonderweiss has better stats AND better skills... Only thing Byakuya seems to have against them is his very beautiful and efficient gameplay : ranged, nad string ending in waves, 1st strong with good reach, 2nd strong with 160 mag, 3rd strong fullscreen : that is a very good moveset, in addition to being very visually satisfying imo. He seems to be a better hybrid than Hallibel and Ginjo but that's about it (just to be precise, I consider them to be solid characters, not outstanding, but not trash either). When it comes to coop tho, he shall be a very good support character (shield, ranged abilities and excellent boss killer). However, I don't think his shield will do anything in pvp, sadly. When it comes to his soul trait, yes it's definitely not the handiest soul trait, but I like the fact that we can now stack 4 of those soul trait and make a full tsukishima link build. If you're good enough, dodging is not a problem. The Ginjo links build is imo way more difficult to handle.

JeanPierreXV Review yeah, but pvp his link is garbage and in coop you know how hard it is to dodge when it's really laggy? Hard as hell making him practically not have a soul trait. I just really hate non- permanent soul traits especially ones if you take any damage whatsoever it's gone

Also like you said he doesn't stand out. There's other hybrids that are much better with decent cast times and have frenzy. If they took his berserker and switched with frenzy he's stand out way more especially since he has fast as hell cast times and good range on all strong attacks. He's just underwhelming. The extra high stats are pointless if his skills aren't good enough

not really, it makes him extremely versatile. The fact that he can cover range with decent damage on the first 3 and then the last one get up close for even more damage makes him better than most ranged characters. I assure you it doesn't make it irrelevant. Far away good damage, closer, even more damage. The numbers Byakuya can dish out is amazing compared to most characters and he is extremely under looked just because of stats and skills.

for the soul trait, the shielding is the reason for the soul trait in the first place, why else would he even utilize the shielding in the first place. Furthermore allows him to utilize his soul trait because if you have more of his links, that allows him to have around 40-80% boost to soul trait at range and up close with the shielding at low risk. He's a character with immense personality, given a high risk high reward type situation which should've been implemented more into the game. He is just a fun and strong character with he most creative possibilities.

He does look pretty solid, maybe not on the level of shunsui or toshiro, but it's far from the "what a shitty unit" posts on reddit, i know that you have amazing accessories, and maybe with worse ones he isn't as good, but he looks pretty sick to be honest. Tough i would have preferred 25% more damage on his soul trait.

XO Joaquin plus he's ranged and has a really nice NAD string. If he's constantly going below 100% stamina in spite of being outside of enemy range, plus having a shield with full CR, then his owner is the shit one

I don’t understand what’s really so bad about him I mean at first on paper he looked like shit but looks can be deceiving. Imagine if he DID get Flurry 12k-15k On nad plus the extra six hits on his last ha string roughly 18k my math is probably off lol and then Frenzy he’d be hitting 10-16k roughly granted that’s only possible with attribute and killer advantage plus good accessories but still he’s not as bad as people say. lol I have mediocre accessories on my green characters and this Byakuya clears a raid barely longer than Tensa Zangetsu despite being weaker. For me calling any character from 2017 "shitty" is a gross exageration for drama purposes. You can do 100% of the pve content of this game with this Byakuya and even some OG characters just fine and yet its the end of the world if Byakuya doesn't have flurry or frenzy. Should he have frenzy? I would be happy but even without he isn't bad by no means, check out mags for Muramasa or FH Ichigo, sometimes its not all about frenzy skill.

Andy Jeans klab dont make characters based on its stats in manga or anime, Wonderweiss is stronger than Tech Genryusai while in anime/manga tech genryusai killed wonderweiss, so yes they can make a movie byakuya stronger than the TWBW one

Way too many kids here fall for that "Attribute + Killer advantage raid completed = automatically good" meme. It's another "OG Nnoitra" moment. People were shitting themselves and screaming "HE IS GOOD" but in the end nobody used him ever. Byakuya is not even near in damage comparison to other Green units.

He is quite easily best hybrid in the game. He does well even in non killer effect raids. 20% isn't a whole lot ya know. Idk what is your criteria for a good character, but for me if he can clear times as well as any other unit then good, I've got even more options. He cleared some speed raids faster than any of my other green units could.
