Nice to see more MESBG. A stable camera and clear sound always helps. IMO throwing Mordor headlong into a Gondor battle line is perhaps not the best strategy.

Good stuff, nice report! I think the Mordor side was way too passive - a ton of points wrapped up in sully, a load of potent cav and a fell beast that wasn't being used for the best part of the game. You said yourselves that the MT side out grinds the opposing infantry line, so the onus is on the evil player to use their tools to find an advantage. Magic is good, but the WK could have been far more disruptive over on the flank with Ingold (as well as the cavalry on the Hurin flank). By the time they engaged, you'd already lost the central engagement. I appreciate that you were waiting for the perfect bat swarm combo opportunity but a good player will deny you that, so it's important to be versatile - or take him on horse if you plan on playing his as a support caster.

That's definitely a fair assessment and I came to the same conclusion in retrospect. I used to be in the habit of diving with the Witch King way too early, and in this game I over-corrected. Lesson learned! Thanks for watching.

It's a fine line for sure! If you dive in to the opponent's centre, you are only one lost heroic move and heroic strike away from losing the main part of your army. I think you have to pick engagements where you can cause enough disruption to stay pretty safe, and isolated pockets of models are perfect. The tough thing about WK on fell beast is that he's ultimately serving two masters - and it's much trickier to juggle both his combat and support responsibilities. After you've seen him die to a rogue bow shot or couple of warriors, it's understandable to want to be cagey with him!

Have discussed some scenarios, but I am woefully short of the stuff I need for many of them! That being said, I am currently printing Balin's Tomb and intend to print the seat of seeing for Amon Hen soon :)

I love me some Gondor! Boromir is my boy, I always bring him on foot with banner and shield when I play Minas Tirith. You could not have played that better!

Honestly, I've really been considering taking him on foot, but I just love the flexibility a horse provides... still it does come at the cost of one more warrior and I do tend to play banner-mir very conservatively.
