Mr. Tolik is a fish farmer from Segobang Village, Licin District, Banyuwangi Regency. Since 2017, Mr. Tolik has started cultivating fish using the minasawah system. Technically, Minasawah is fish farming in rice fields. After the rice harvest, the fields are plowed and water is added. After a few days, the fish are stocked.
The minasawah system can be used for spawning and rearing fish. Fish in Minasawah don't really need to be fed, because in the rice fields there is already natural food available for fish. However, so that the fish grow faster, you can also feed them with pellets.
According to Mr. Tolik, one large female breeder can produce up to 90,000 fish seeds. Pak Tolik only sells fish seeds or called Nener. So he doesn't sell consumption fish. For spawning fish, he uses grass as a natural medium for spawning.
Of course there are obstacles in every business. However, if we are diligent, we can definitely succeed. Very interesting and very inspiring.
