Aptitude Test for Job Placement - 30 Questions in 20 Minutes - for Software Engineers
It's a live aptitude test for software engineering job placement. As a fresher, it's mandatory for a candidate to clear the aptitude test in order to attend further interview rounds. But, this specific aptitude test is conducted by a reputed software organization during their hiring process where everyone willing to join the company has to pass this test regardless of their experience and seniority level.
They never revealed the cutoff marks, but I feel their cutoff is around 75%.
This is a 20-minute test with 30 questions and no negative marking.
So, 40 seconds per question.
The questions would usually be simple or moderately difficult, but the timing is the key. So, be fast and be accurate.
Feel free to pause the video for every question to try on your own and verify the answers in the video.
You can watch frequently asked interview puzzles and riddles on my channel (Logically Yours).
I will soon be conducting live aptitude tests where you can participate and get exciting rewards.

In Question 8, If you try to create the scenario on an actual dice, even option F is also not possible in the given arrangement. 2 and 3 needs to be interchanged in the F option in order to make F as the correct option, so the answer should be none of the above

Since it’s a time based test, the answer has to be based on obviously available information. But I’m glad to see that you did some keen observation:)

Q11, it can be solved easily like this, (20*12+X*4)/16 = 21, if you solve this equation it will equal X = 24

I would have to disagree with the answer for the question 27, even though that was my initial answer as well. I don't know if the person giving possible options had that in mind or not, but 980 is the most obvious solution, precisely because of the solution that you gave in this video. However, I think the correct answer is 1080, so I see this as a trick question, since there first option is the one most people would mark as correct (just as you have in the video). I found that solution is 1080 only after I checked how would the profit be split between M, L and O if the answer was actually 980. The explanation: If you set the price at 980, you get that one unit is calculated as 9*x=980 => x=108.88, which would give the labor profit of 4*108.88=435.52, which is lower than 480. -----> So my conclusion was that the price needs to be higher than 980 and the only given price higher than 980 is 1080. So I checked the ratios for that price of 1080 and it aligns perfectly, as follows: If the price is 1080, the price of one unit is 9*x=1080 => x=120, and with this, price of the labor is 4*x=4*120=480, which gives the labor component an increase of 20% of the initial (actual) labor cost. Also, the other two components are increased proportionally as well. The key here is that you can't arbitrarily increase the profit of only labor component, because the ratio still remains the same 3:4:2. This also has a logical explanation from economic standpoint and that is that if the price of the product is higher than the production cost (which it should be, because the point is to make a profit), it is to be expected that every component in the production process gets the benefit from that profit (in this question there are 3 components with ratios 3:4:2, but in real life, it could be more components with different ratios). However, if the answer of 1080 wasn't offered as an option, I would definitely say the correct one is 980, even though it doesn't translate into a real-life economic scenario. Maybe I'm overthinking this or my logic is false, but I do think that 1080 is the most plausible solution. If this was a trick question, shame on the interviewer, because most of people would say 980 xD

The problem statement specifies that the profit is only calculated on the component of the price accounted for by labour. If we were to consider the profit for other departments, we'd need additional information about the profit margins for materials and overheads. Since no information about profits for materials and overheads is provided, we can only calculate the marked price based on the given 20% profit on the labour component. The problem doesn't mention any profits for materials and overheads, so we assume they don't contribute to the profit margin for the marked price. Thus, the calculation remains focused solely on the labour component. The total cost is 900, the profit on labour is 80, and the marked price is: marked Price = 900 + 80 = 980 Therefore, the marked price of the cordless phone set remains 980.
