The ahead thinking was probably from troy, looks like he just rode it a few times before, so he doesn't get caught riding it 😅 but doing it the first time in the race run is mental. Troy probably won him the race, otherwise Asa may have overtaken him on the last split

@Tom-15 no doubt abou Troy giving him the heads up. As well for Asa. If he didn't mess up on the drop at the beginning of his run I believe he would've win this race.

@ Nearly every downhill run has an "if" moment... "If he didn't mess up on the drop".. If JG didn't have a slip through the off camber section he would have been faster as well. Saying things like this takes away from the winner. JG won because he had the best combination of speed and minimised mistakes.

the embodiment of FLOW…. absolutely mesmerizing to watch him ride so smoothly down that trail. Some of the commentary during the race was that the lighter riders might have a hard time picking up speed compared to the heavier riders, but physics being physics and all, I think being lighter helped him ride smooth and preserve speed by reducing forces on every impact.. It looked like he and his bike were not working hard at all the entire way down… kid is amazing!

I've been watching everyone do runs all week, I havnt seen anyone cut the berm at 2:47 but kept thinking how much speed they lose from it, watching Jackson cut that really put into perspective how much time he saved. What a great run, well deserved.

There were about half a dozen that were cutting that berm, mostly all the NZ and Aussie riders. Sam Hill told Jackson to cut the berm on Monday during the walk through.
