@@BritanApril-g1j I mean perhaps not for the whole 200m say. Although he did split a 18.50 200m split on a college relay in 1990, and he was no where near his mythical 1996 form. I mean the actual speed velocity required to attain that pace I believe was possible from him. It would of course be the reasoning of being able to hold/ maintain that speed over a specific distance which would be in question., ie a 18.3 200m but that would be minus blocks reaction so maybe.

"Could have", "Should have" ran a 42.something. But he didn't! He had a long career and plenty of chances doing it. He was extremely analytical and put all his mind and body into it. The fact of the matter is that the times he accomplished are still fantastic. And nobody in modern times (or maybe ever) has held the double world record (And great world records too) for both the 200 m and the 400 m!

He did end zones with jog recoveries.... so some articles said, I think it said 2x per week wherever they could fit them in with the endurance work, while getting closer to competition...I can't remember the specifics, but I don't believe it was full 35-40 yard sprints, but frequency drills with a straight leg lead in or I think they said pitter patter coming out of the long side jogs, turn pitter patter straight leg then frequency running drill stepping over at the knee or quad, if the ground contact patch resonance is causing his junk to bang around too much...

@TheWayToWin Жыл бұрын
