I love the explanation of riding a twin. I only ride my twin now. It’s a way better experience overall. I found the notion of flat vs on rail to be interesting, not so much the explanation, but rather the featured examples. The latter example of a turn that stays on rail and accelerates out just looked like a standard down carve, with no acceleration out. The flat slide is necessary occasionally to make the board fit, but I’m not sure it’s a feature of one’s entire approach to riding a twin. It’s a way for a situation. Obviously if you have a face open and wide enough to stay on rail the entire time, that’s preferable, it’s just not always the case, hence the example of a heavy down carve and no acceleration being the result of something else it was supposed to be.

Fk I always thought I was doing something wrong when riding wide tail fishes cause I naturally would shift my feet side to side depending on where I was through the turn. I'm like ahh I should probably just figure out where to put my foot and keep it there lol. I appreciate this tidbit now I know to just keep on doing what I'm doing feeling out the board as it calls.
