The fact that you can still tell he has a limp because he sways to the side instead of up and down is just genius for the lower res. Also, I don't know how, but the DPCM drums sound MUCH better than they actually are in EB0. Where did you get the higher quality samples?

@@Just_Ants Not really. The sprites in 2 do waddle like penguins, but in 1 they walk a bit more naturally. This minor, *minor* animation change let's you know he has a limp without actually needing to change one of the four pixels these sprites actually have.

The Dpcm drums are the same, I suppose that they sound higher quality here in the beginning of the song as you can hear it better there.

I started playing Mother 3 last month and I have to say, I love the game. How Nintendo crafted an excellent world with an excellent story and characters and not release it out here in the west is beyond me, but hey, at least a fan translation exists! But anyways, Mind of a Thief, along with F-f-fire!! and Dangerous guys are my favorite tracks in the game

Yup, it's called DPCM, and it's pretty cool! Sunsoft used DPCM for some of the bass tracks in their games: Journey to Silius and Gimmick to name a couple
