As an aspiring translator, I'd like to know what you note down when Sensei is speaking. It would be difficult to write down whole sentences to remember, so what do you write?

Avison Charm consecutive interpreting is all about short term memory, so what is noted is different from person to person. I write down key words to concepts that are reminders. I also write down numbers and names since those are a pain to remember on top of everything that's being said. But sometimes, my handwriting has been too messy and I can't read my own notes too lol

Avison Charm I either cut them off (prior to a panel, we do discuss that they shouldn't be talking too long so they forget), or keep on taking notes and doing the best I can!
