I'll never visit any amusement parks that gets rid of their good classic coasters even nothing lasts forever or so! From Houston where we had astroworld living with roller coaster tycoon for all eternity!

I worked on building the scaffolding to clean up all the blood and body parts on that coaster a few years back.

I've only lived in Edmonton for 7 months I loved the Galaxy land roller coaster and had no clue this happened.

My dad actually talked to a millwright there and they said they are putting in two new rides. Also they are not putting it to trash they are selling it to a company overseas. Pls like so this can get to the top!❤ Edit: the reason they got rid of it is because the coaster parts are from a company that went out of business (not 100% sure) that went out of businesses and its really hard and expensive to get new ones

My maintenance manager where I work used to be the head millwright at WEM Galaxyland and confirmed this as well. It was a long time coming due to the scarcity of parts and increasing cost of custom fabrication as necessary for some of the important parts.

I was at galaxy land in August

the supports are not crushed thats all that is left of Galaxy Quest. the structure was built of solid concrete, Re-bared cinder blocks, and a sizable Q-deck concrete slab floor suspended up to where the stairs use to enter into it. It's has taken WEEKS to get that out of there and now they are on final clean up... then the REAL WORK begins once again! and a guy needs to keep on top of it! For there is Once In A Life Time footage to be had soon enough! I have plenty of video footage of the process so far as it is on my channel. I even have footage of her Blueprints and the scale model.

It’s Iconic Alright mate the Mindbender is like the best Rollercoaster there when you get to the top after you first drop it’s A Galaxy of Kings 😂😂

I called it the killer coaster. In the early 90’s we would get high and ride this and the drop of doom..😂😮

That was in 1986 when it was still a new attraction to the mall. The roller coaster never had a major accident like that since. Scary ass ride though.

Well here is the story why soo there is this guy named jeremy or something and he is a lover of WEM so he went on his favorite ride the mindbender ride in galaxy land and when he put the seatbelt on he did not hear it click soo then when It came to the loop he fell and unalived (true story)

My mom went on this ride in the 90s. She was having fun at the amusement park but had to go to work. Her friend insisted for her to go on in once more but she declined. The friend and her boyfriend went on in one more time and the girl got decapitated. The boyfriend was in critical condition and died after

those people died in 1986... and never again did anything bad in the slightest happen to the ride... aside from a few injured necks because people are literally to weak of body and muscle mass to take the ride... they didn't just close it NOW in 2023 because of 1986 or riders who couldn't handle it through the 37 SOLID years of operation 🤣

@@GoogsMindbentyea but it did close in 2020 from Covid and hasn’t been open since, some where in there they decided to take it down and sell it.

@@goosetheblackcat only the train sets were sold to Indiana Beach. ride maintenance told me they are good for another 30 years, easy. The entire track layout and supports on the other hand were scrapped at General Metals Edmonton. what remains will be taken there as well.
