It looks like a great way to use up our embossing powders. But I wonder if the embossing powder when heated is reacting to the ink below because it shrinks up. I’ll definitely have to play with this today. Thanks.😊
@dropofsunshine3 ай бұрын
Thank you so much. I’m so happy you enjoy it once the powder is rem melting is rising up a little bit so that’s why it looks like it’s shrinking. Wishing you a wonderful day ❤️

Thank you so much Helen☺️ I love to going back to the older techniques. There’s so many fabulous things I did in the past before I got the access to all fancy tools. It It is so nice from time to time to travel back to these days where I had to be way more creative without all that specialty gear, so I do appreciate much learning about “old school” techniques. Thank you so much for watching. I’m sending you hugs and I wish you a fabulous day ❤️

My feelings exactly. I do love the new rotational stamp positioners as it means less buying of preprinted background papers and back to making our own. New lease of life for 30 year old old red rubber stamps. There are products that I buy now, because I have lost some eyesight and dexterity, but I did prefer when cardmaking was about handcrafting ,and we made more individual cards, not all so similar as most of the videos on here nowadays. I would love to see people learning more from creators like yourself, the old techniques and learning to colour properly, and good old fashioned 3 d decoupage by craft knife, not electric machine, and not rely on layering stamps doing all the shading for you. Don't get me wrong , cardmaking it is still a hobby and we don't all have time or ability to spend on learning techniques, but I would love to see less promoting of expensive products we don't need and more sharing of old skills. So thanks Marta. I'm Lillia from Scotland.

Hi Nancy, thank you so much for watching my video. I’m so happy you like it. Yes this technique is fabulous especially if you’ve got an old stash of the embossing powders that never get used. I create couple of the ironed pieces and store them in additional box ready to use when I need them I can then just placed them on the card and slightly melted with my heat gun tool without the need of reaching for iron every time I would like to create more, I’m sending you hugs and I wish you a fabulous day ❤️

Thank you so much, my friend and yes this is happening too many crafters embossing taking a little bit of the practice. I was also the one who was constantly overheating and burning my embossing especially with the white one and then I was wondering why is it not looking as good as on the crafters tutorial. I eventually learned that I was overheating my embossing and that’s why it was turning yellowish. Thank you once again for watching my videos. I’m sending you hugs and I wish you fabulous day ❤️

Hi my friend the ink actually doesn’t go through the plastic. I first smeared on the plastic sprayed with water and then turn it upside down. Videos such as these grease the wheels of my brain to the point of being hazardous to my marital state!! That said, I wonder if a variation of this technique couldn't also entail using a stencil, or a full coverage die, (and removed before applying heat) to perhaps incorporate a bit more defined design in the results?? 🤔 I'm thinking "galaxies for a card for an astronomy buff"? Maybe in another lifetime ... this project looks like one more missed supper! But OH WHAT GRAND RESULTS!!

I have lots of ultra thick embossing powder . We used it in a tool called the Melting pot. We also used it with friendly plastic. It is basically a craft version of a children's chocolate tempering pot. We also used small , non steam irons to do this technique decades ago. We used the iron with coloured wax too , it was called encaustic wax art.

You could always glue or tape the melted powders down onto the card. OR. put the card with the melted powders on top of the card, inside the parchment paper, and iron it again. Then it wouldn't get those melted holes in it, that look so strange.
@dropofsunshine3 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for letting me know I’m afraid if I will place the card between the parchment paper and iron it again the part of the embossing would stick to the parchment paper besides I like those little holes.
