This was the first CD of the genre I purchased. A day after attending a small rave, I went to a little hole in the wall record store. The clerk said, "This is new, you should try it out." If I had a time machine I would go back and shake that guys hand. What a blessing! Much love to all those who see this comment. May the journey never end.

It was a rainy night & I remember buying this CD at Tower Records when it was released. I opened it up, got in my car and drove home passed my house and just kept going. Got back on the Freeway and must’ve drove @ 25 miles no traffic in the middle of the night with a light drizzle rain. Drove back home again only to pass up my house once more. Driving in the rain listening to Sasha for the first time got me hooked forever! Finally got home at the crack of dawn. I went to bed saying to myself “wow there is another life “. I gots to thank GOD for the music . 🎶🙏🏻🎵. It really changed my life completely. I’m taking this w/me when I leave.

@@coastalcruise1345 it had a different vibe back then. Some of the newer tracks are okay.. I prefer the feel of the older stuff. Im 40 and have been listening to house and techno since i was a freshman in HS, so perhaps thats why I favor the older era of the music. Ive heard plenty of shit these days called prog houe when its clearly minimal. The lines have been blurred a bit. To me progressive is a different sound. An twist on the basic formula.

@@beaupasquariello4227 Yeah . . . the vibe was different, the tracks were more simple, but full of feeling . . . like the way 80's music still sounds great, there is a purity in the energy. The past few decades were golden, think about it, will fresh new music ever be created again?

From like 1996 - 2002 Sasha, Digweed,Nick Warren, Dave Seaman, Northern Exposure, Anthony Pappa, this was when I heard "techno" in a different way, when a cd mix was a true journey. It's still some of my fav music. Progressive house / trance, dark, trippy awesomeness with flawless mixin. Still sounds amazing today!

My first visit to Space Ibiza in 1999 and Sasha was on the decks. Amazing night, music was spot-on - dark, intense, moody atmosphere and eventually emerged at 08:00 to the bright sunshine.. never forgotten it and a highlight of my clubbing career (in retirement now hehe). This album serves as a wonderful reminder.

This era was unmatched. Tiesto, Guetta etc. have no clue. I was very fortunate to be in this space all the way back to late 80s. Been to hundreds of live events over the years. KLF, Moby, FSOL, Lords of Acid etc. In terms of DJs, I caught the Sasha/Digweed show way back early 2000s and it was insane. Time truly has no mercy n how fast it passes us by.

The opening track provokes something so undescribable in me. It feels though I should be laughing, crying, running, hiding, understanding something like the sun, all the while melancholy has me in constant vibrations to this beat. I wish it won't but know that, soon, it will end. I'm sad but i'm not?

It IS crazy well made. Baffles me why other DJs didn’t feel compelled to raise their aesthetic standarts after hearing what is possible. Fillers are not mandatory, an extra effort in coherent track selection can turn a mix magical. But I guess the incentive structure in music / EDM mandated by humans really is what is at play.

There are only a handful of djs who can take you on a seamless journey that is mixed to perfection and creates a perfect vibe..Sasha is right up there at the top ,since I first heard the Sasha at universe tape from around 92 I knew this guy was different ,he played tunes that no other djs dared ..from the early 90s Sasha has been the most consistent and boundary pushing DJ ever ..he's the djs DJ of choice..

Sasha is famous for his ‘in key’ mixing. I could be wrong. He picked up this technique from an early Hacienda resident Jon daSilva. It must have been a labourious process back then finding the key of the record. Goin up through the chromatic scale of the keyboard matching the key. Further confusion coming from ‘is it A minor or A major?’

From 47mins to the end is literally the most magical musical moment of my entire life. The whole CD is incredible to the point of absurd but that collection of music from 47 until the final track is the most seamless ethereal and life changing sequence ever. It inspired me and continues to do so to this day. That mix from Stage One into Sacred is probably my favourite track to track mix in history.

I discovered Sasha and this CD one day at a Tower Records Listening Station (I miss that place) long ago. I was a bit too old to go out to the dance/club scene back in the late 90's so I didn't know much about techno/trance music but I've always loved the sound synth-pop from the 80's so this was something I instantly fell in love with. This is one of the best if not the best GU recording ever! Mind Blowing and Perfect! Can't get any better than this! Thank you for uploading this on KZbin!
