Mindcrack Ep 28 - "Guude Will Hunting!!!" Minecraft Survival Multiplayer

In this episode...we show some progress on the Haunted Plantation, go Huntin' for a wild Guude, and then we work on the DEATH CUBE (name WIP)

Maybe with the trying to drive players into the center of the cube idea, you could try and create something with slowly floods the rooms with water, so they have to get out of the rooms or they will drown. :)

Your mansion looks amazing! I love the colour scheme with the nether brick and quartz - the dark bricks will make it look really spooky when you hauntify it.

The old server had a trial for Genny and Bdubs versus Etho for them stealing his TNT - jokingly, of course. The whole thing was super entertaining, and their getaway after losing and being sentenced to hanging was awesome. The point is, B-Team has ALWAYS role-played as petty criminals. Genny HAS always been nice, and he still IS nice, but he's also always pretended to be a bad-guy, and he still does that too. Genny hasn't changed, his audience has. Seriously, watch that trial. It's great fun.

For the one way doors, its pretty simple, have a block swopper in front of every door, have a hopper timer, and then hook it up to the block swopper, once time is up, the block switches, and the pressure plate infront of the door pops off, therefore making it only 1 way.

It's basically a bunch of furnaces connected together with hoppers so you can put all the things you need to smelt in a chest and it will spread through all the furnaces evenly, and it's in the nether so he can fill the furnaces with lava easily.

Generik, you should make a much larger version of the Battle Cube and use it for an Ultra Hardcore Map. Everyone could start in a different cube, each with different resources, so you would have a reason to change cubes. Then with command blocks, you could open and close the doors after set times, letting you free to roam, or lock you in with someone, or worse, have them locked in with you. Just a thought, love your videos, keep up the awesome work!

They weren't trying to kill each other, they mostly worked together to try to find a way out, lol. Killing each other DID occasionally happen, though. Those inter-dimensional physics-defying cubes messed some of 'em up pretty bad. I loved that movie.

Genny's cube idea reminds me of the movie named "The Cube". A ton of cube-death-rooms you work your way through trying to find/kill the other people. Good movie.

The attacker has the advantage of being able to surprise the victim, be fully prepared on full health, wait for the right moment, and being able to have potions ready. If genny had waited until guude was building, used a strength potion and took guude more by surprise then he probably would have won. Instead he just walked up to guude and started hitting him.

The reason i'd use dispensers is to make the mechanism fit in a 2 high space. By using pistons to hold the water it would take all 3 blocks GB has between the rooms, assuming he'd cover the pistons with ceiling blocks, leaving no space for additional wiring needed for the door system or something else that may need some space.

TIP on that pvp scene: You should have ran when you had the speed potion. It's harder to hit a fast moving target. You stood straight infront of Guude. Maybe you should try and go behind him. Remember, If he can't see you, he can't hit you.

If you're doing the 3x3 piston door with the middle cut out, with the intent of closing off sections of the cube...keep in mind, players might toss an ender pearl in the opening to go back into closed cubes. Great job on your haunted mansion so far!! :D

This going to be so epic. It might be cool to put more than a minute delay on door closings, and maybe add a few (but not a full set) of vertical doors outside the main passage. Maybe semi-hidden, already "locked" passages that can be used to sneak up/down to an unexpected area?

Dear Genny. When you're going to shut off the chambers/rooms, make noteblocks do a 10 second warning sound. This sound can be activated where the doors are going to close at. This can give the players a smal warning so that they can move to the next cube.

Generik in order to funnel all of the players into the center you need to close off rooms before wings you want the edges of your map to close in and if you cycle the doors closing the way you explained at the end then the map forces the players into a spiral and into the "next" room as opposed to the "center" room.

The cube is starting to get rolling. Push harder to get everyone to do one each. I'd love to see everyone put their own touch on a room. Also you need to do one!

Hey GB, you should think about ingress and egress... I'd recommend closing off the two doors to each of the corners first, forcing the game play into the 5 cubes that make up the plus sign, then start closing off the doors that lead into the center. That would also force the early game meta into the corners for valuable resources only available there, encouraging some early PVP.

Generik, XP has trouble going through half-slabs. You can collect it more easily by standing so the block you are in is touching the chicken chamber diagonally and your feet are at the chickens' level.

About the XP orbs conundrum in the beginning. XP orbs appear to be floating eternally around you however this is just a graphics issue because the actual XP is stuck on that corner, and the green orbs think they should get in you. You broke in and collected the orbs with no obstruction and they went in you.

GenerikB, an idea, make an incentive for people to move towards the center. Either negative incentive (being attacked in the room you're not supposed to be in by arrows, lava, etc) or positive incentive, something being dispensed in the center every time a room closes. :)

Hey Generikb I had a pretty cool idea for one of the cubes your working on. It could be circus themed with the roof being like a Big Top Tent and you could have a tight rope tower in the middle of the room made out of wood and iron bars as the rope. Also you could have a big circle inserted in the ground to show the performance is. Then make stands centered with the doors so when you walk in you get that feeling like you walking in to a stadium. For fun you could make a elephant out of cobble

you could have a competition between the mindcrackera where everybody designs a cube, and the best one gets a prize (and maybe a prize for 2nd and 3rd place). that way you'll have nice cubes and attention will be brought to your project.

next time you get to attack due to the death games, remember to bring a regeneration potion. It should be pretty easy since Etho Corp is pretty close and only charge what you want to pay for his potions, so you can pick one up there as you go :)

Your Plantation building is really coming along great now that you've put more detail into it, although I think that when its complete, it'll probably look as good as it'll get then, before you start tearing bits of it apart to create that run-down/abandoned feeling haha! You came sooooo close to getting good there too, especially with him saying he was down to just 2 hearts :o I think that splash potion of "Horse Steriodes" wasn't effective enough on you xD

You can also shut down the Light in the "closed" cubes, so the player, who is still inside is forced to leave, by the Monsters, that will spawn in there

Or, you could teleport them in a room and they don't know where they are, force them to move to various directions, they don't know how many rooms they go through this round, so that when they move to the middle, they're surprised and are forced to take arms. :D (That would only work the first time until they get familiar with the room contents.)

You should always take bookshelves, tools, and a enchanting table to kill the ender dragon, The higher level you are the more XP it takes to get to a higher level, So get to 30. Enchant Rinse, Repeat and you get the most out of it.

If you put pressure plates on both sides then wire all the rooms side pressure plates together you can make all the rooms doors out only, then you can disable rooms completely at random and players wont be able to get trapped

the best time to use the invisability potions is when its raining because most people on the server turn off thier particles so that means they wont see your potion effects

Use an iron door with a pressure pad on both sides and the when the room shuts off, have a piston under the pressure pad and power that for one pulse making the pressure pad pop off the block. That way the pad on the inside is still there and people could get out but no-on cold get in as there is no pad on the outside. Like so he can see plz :) p.s. you can use this on a piston door aswell

You should make the doors close randomly using a bunch of hopper randomizers. It would take some doing to make sure the same door is not selected twice, but it would add a lot to replayability.

Anyway, last comment here - just wanted to say that your death cubes are coming along good so far too, and you have so many great ideas for it too, but I feel like it'll be a hell of a lot of work to put a big system in place for all the doors opening/closing etc :o I hope more people get involved over there with doing a cube each, as right now its just mostly all frames, apart from the one bdubs has done so far!

Dont put the doors in the middle of each wall. Allow the builder of each room to control where on the wall the door should go, It will allow for much more variety in the rooms. Also you might want to make a room that can take advantage of the clouds, they would work as clouds on one floor or fog on the floor above. Keep up the good work. RedhairdYoda

hey genny, for the doors, instead of repeaters, you can use soulsand. it works the same way (you can walk in but you cant walk out.) for a doorway, you can make a block swapper that turns on at a certain point of the game that swaps whatever block that you walk on in a two tall doorway with soulsand. i know its a little hard to understand, but you"re a smart guy. like so he can see?

Guys I believe he IS using the armor. If you look at Etho's latest video you see he noticed damage on the armor and in this video at a certain point his armor rating above his hotbar increases which is also a great indicator.

Hey Genny... I didn't see this in the comments so if it is a repeat, I'm sorry. However, you will need to close two doors to each corner so you need to sync up 6 doors together to close for the corners to fully restrict access to a closed off room. This sounds like a lot of fun and I can't wait to see more to it.

genny doesnt want to involve redstone torches because every torch has a delay of 2 game ticks (or 1 redstone tick) before it switches so any unnecessary torches just add unwanted delay in the opening and closing. And besides, half slab wiring is a newer and better concept and it saves on sticks too!

genny i got a pretty cool idea for your ''haunted mansion'' , if you are going to use logs in your build, for example oak log, you should mix different type of log with that oak wood (not birch) so it will give that rotten wood effect, you can also use soul sand in small places like basement, and say that the basement was flooded with water, so the soul sand will give that awesome effect too, i hope that was a nice idea, sorry for my english :) .

You can put redstone lamps on the top so mobs will spawn in the room forcing them to leave the room

Genny since the door design allows for access to the center no matter what order the doors are closed in each "stack" of doors should be put on a hopper on dropper randomizer and take a random time to close maybe sometime between 30 sec and 2 min. That way the game is different each time you play.

The actually XP Orbs were farther back, they get stuck sometimes in a tight space; just dig around the trap and you should get all of it.

Easiest way would be to place source blocks in the ceiling and open them with pistons, every minute 1 piston opens

hey BG you should add a way to disable the clock of the hopper when you are near 500 chicken, first your machine won't go crasy when the chunk is loaded by someone else, secondly it will fullfill the hopper and you machine will me ready for the next run :). i have done it on mine ^^.

Guude wasn't aware of what was going on. He even says he completely forgot about the death games and was just standing there dumbfounded. Now think about someone that see's the uniform and instantly recognizes that they are doing the death games. They would of swatted Genny away with little to no effort. The only reason guude took so much damage was because he just stood there while Genny beat on him.

Sometimes in mob traps or xp farm or things with xp the orbs will get stuck on certain blocks like half slabs. If you break the block or blocks stopping the xp from getting to you, the orbs will come to you after the blocks are broken.

I don't know why, but for some reason I thought the whole smelting Netherrack into Nether Bricks was just a feature on the Minecraft Xbox360 Edition! Due to the Nether itself having boundary walls all around it and stopping you from just travelling further out to find more Nether Fortresses like you would on the PC, where as on the Xbox360 you might be lucky to find 1 or 2 at most with the limited nether size, so it makes sense to let you smelt your own nether bricks haha!

When you get to 30 levels, use an ender pearl to get out of the exp orbs. Do an enchant, then come back and grab more exp. You get way more exp this way

One-way exits could be enabled by starting with a beacon jump boost and then covering the beacon.
