On the conversation of multiple takes I wish Tyler Perry Learned 1% of this when he was an actor on Gone Girl working and observing Fincher’s perfection to apply his own films. If you look at Tylers films, his BG extras especially his latest movie for Netflix, the extras were doing crazy stuff in the background that should’ve been caught while they were shooting. Thanks for this interview amazing insight on the process.

Great ! Thanks...! Clearly in this line of work, educating yourself about as many aspects of the craft as possible, with knowledge about past masters, is crucial. I would like to have asked Eric, at what point did he consider himself good enough to be doing what he is doing...? He is too young to be called a “ master “...and most of the current “ masters “ would say they are still always learning...but just curious as to when exactly the penny dropped for him, when did it feel like he just knew the language of Light, knew what he was doing...??
