Yeah true ! Brain he’s bitter , angry , frustrated and sometimes a bit mean but of course with Pinky he shows his emotion in front of Pinky , don’t forget he’s not just his best friend , he’s also a very good psychology for Brain”s feeling .

What I think interesting is the evolution of these related to Pinky: in the first episodes (in Animaniacs, like in Napoleon Brainaparte), Brain is trying not to unleash on Pinky, and Pinky is terrified and says "aouch". But later in the show (notably in the spin-off) Pinky is now a shameless masochist who doesn't mind pain, laughs at pain, thanks Brain for clearing his mind with a bop, or even hurts himself on purpose (in the Brainwashed triple episode he even says he liked it so he kept banging his head). All that while half admitting he doesn't feel comfortable with being called names. And now in the reboot, the toxicity of this behavior in their relationship is addressed at episode 1, and since Brain goes to therapy he is doing huge efforts not to hurt Pinky.
