I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Trader Joes. I think I've commented on multiple videos about this. You hit most of my favorites. I love their flavored sparkling waters (no sugar, very cheap), their bags of boiled eggs (found by the regular eggs) as a total convenience thing...they're peeled already. All the boiled egg, none of the annoyance of shell shards everywhere...AND their frozen brown rice. It's just brown rice...frozen...stick it in the microwave for 3 minutes in the package and WHAM, you've got organic brown rice ready to go. I also think you can't beat the selection of raw nuts in bags. Pretty affordable and GREAT selection. (PS--I do not get paid for this love...but I'm starting to think I should). One last thing: spices. Extremely cheap and their spice blends are really good. And I've never found vanilla extract cheaper anywhere. Okay. I could go on, but I won't. :)

I know! I used to work near a Trader Joes and every time my mom needed me to go get blueberries, they never have them, or they do but the smaller ones and I needed the big containers :(

Trader Joe's is one of my favorite food stores! Sadly, the nearest TJ's is like 45 minutes away. My favorite foods from there are:Chicken Shu Mai, Mini Wontons, Butternut Squash Triogoli, Dark Chocolate Pretzel Thins and this caramelized onion dip. (I shop there maybe once a season, I live with my mom and we grow alot of our food stuff, and can/freeze/dehydrate. What we don't grow, our local grocery is relatively good about pricing, and farmer's markets are great.

@mindovermunch I am in love with trader joes and it is now the only place I shop! I have listed some things I love from TJs and why I like them:corn salsa (it's amazing), reduce guilt guacamole (made with Greek yogurt for added protein and lower fat), Apple/strawberry and the apple/mango 100% fruit bars (great snack and no added sugar), egg white egg salad (healthier quick lunch option), bag of frozen Brussels sprouts (super cheap), ready-to-eat beets (refrigerator section , convenient short cut, great in salads or shakes), spices (super cheap), bag of sugar and flour (packaged in plastic bags that are resealable!!), frozen bag of sautéed mushrooms (I add this to a lot of dishes), frozen bag of roasted tri-colored peppers/onions (great convenient add-in of seasoned veggies), the Power of 7 juice (7 great fruits /veggies not from concentrate and its delicious). Hope this helps! I love a lot of their products but these are some of the first things that came to mind. :)

Can you comment on what made you have to 'warm up' to Trader Joes? I like them for the most part but I do find it frustrating when some weeks you go in and they just don't have a bunch of things for whatever reason( I asked a clerk and they said they get shipments in everyday...and yet, they will be out of stock on many items...could be just the one I go to)

It's very overwhelming to me and not so much a pleasure to shop there... I go about once a month now and stock up on these items but I don't like to go for everything...

I'd suggest rinsing it under water when you drain it, rather than just draining it. The water gets very dark and starchy when it cooks, but it's really good

Try the eggplant cutlets. I always have some in my freezer. When I can't think of what I want for a quick easy dinner, I pan fry a few of these and slice some of the Trader Joe's Pearl Tomatoes seasoned with Trader Joe's sea salt and pepper medley from the grinders. When I eat them together it reminds me of the flavor of fried green tomatoes. I love this for a light and quick dinner.

Their almond and coconut flours are so affordable and great and their hummus is so creamy and delicious! Also, their puttanesca sauce is sooooo flavorful and tasty, especially when you throw it together with some black bean pasta and a couple cans of albacore tuna for a super quick and deliciously satisfying meal!

My nearest TJ's is several miles away, but I enjoyed seeing the specialty items in the haul. On a side note for the TJ deprived like me, two low sugar pasta sauces I often buy on sale are Muir Glen Organics and Rao's. Same price and only 3g sugar!

Great video Alyssia! We don't have a Trader Joe's near us, it's a good hours drive at least. We did very recently have a Whole Foods move in our area. I plan on making a list of the things that I liked in your video & see if they have them. One thing I like to get when do have an opportunity to go to Trader Joe's is low salt tuna. I'm supposed to eat a low salt diet & I've looked at all the stores in my area & no one has the low salt tuna so I will check that out at Whole Foods as well. Thanks for the great tips.

One year, we didn't get to the store for turkey in time for Thanksgiving. They did have turkey breast cutlets so we treated them like steak and grilled everything! Meat, veggies, everything! Grilled potatoes that were then mashed? Yum! Everyone still talks about that year as one of the best for food :)

I love to get the Persian cucumbers, and the Salsa Fresca (little container with green lid in the fridge section). I also on occasion get the frozen Chile Lime Chicken burgers or the turkey burgers. Some of the guilty items I love to get are the Channa Masala frozen meal and Butter Chicken meal. My hubs and I will cook each and share as a meal together. So delish. Oh and I love the pumpkin butter in the fall, and the fig butter. I also love TJ's brand of sprouted bread. I recently bought the frozen cauliflower, excited to try it.

Their veggie burgers are amazing! I love the Masala burger right now! And their quinoa bread is great! They have Naan in the bread section that I love too. The thing about added sugar in tomato sauce depends on taste and balancing the acidity of the tomato itself. I have to try each and every tomato sauce I buy here in Italy and add sugar to balance. It's just a tiny little sugar for a large amount of sauce... it's not 100% evil! But I recognize that things go different in the US compared to Italy (here we don't have to mind that much about ingredients... everything is way more safe thanks to food laws).

This inspired me to go to our new store. (We had one in town before, it was just a 45 minute drive. The new one opened up two weeks ago, and is a 10 minute drive.) Tried the watermelon juice, it was fantastic. The black bean pasta was also amazing. I'm looking forward to sampling more of their produce, it seems to have the best selection all around. Any ideas besides pizza crust for the cauliflower crumbles? I... was thinking an alfredo sauce but if there are any other ideas I'd love to know.

+Kelsea Werner So glad you liked what you found! I've enjoyed the pantry items I've been getting there :) I do have a cauliflower alfredo recipe and it's amazing! But you don't need the cauliflower rice- just regular cauliflower works fine :) For the cauliflower rice specifically I use it a lot in "bowls" as a rice substitute or to boost volume- a lot of times I'll do 1/2 rice and 1/2 cauliflower rice so I get to enjoy more food and get those veggies in! :)

I always love seeing what people get at TJ's! There's always a bijillion people there when I go so I feel rushed while I'm shopping. I like their red and green salsa, garlic naan, free range chicken broth, red pepper and tomato soup, banana yogurt, shaved Brussels, rainbow carrots, seasoning selection, nuts and seeds, serano salsa, and cheesecake.

They have awesome trail mixes. Some have lots of chocolates and dried fruit, so not they're super great for you, but so yummy. They also have regular nut mixes, and in individual portions, so that's awesome. Their chile spiced dried mango slices are my crack... So spicy and sweet and so good! But yeah they have alot of sugar. It's a great splurge though!

Thanks for the suggestion :) Nuts all provide healthy fats and benefits, but it's easy to over-do them because they are all calorie dense. So moderation is key!

last night's dinner was the teeny tiny potatos and the turkey breasts. I wasn't mad at either! I cooked the potatos w s&p, and a TBS of olive oil. could've used a little leas. I took some of the TJS everyday seasoning & cooked the turkey breast with that and a tsp of oil. soooooooooooooo good.

So I absolutely despise the Trader Joe's closest to me but actually really enjoyed the one I went to while out of state. I tried the freeze dried mango and love that you mentioned them because I'm not quite sure if freeze dries fruits are "healthy". I love that they sell organic canned beans for less than 99¢ and their fluoride free toothpaste is less than $3 when brand name Fluoride free paste is upwards of $5! Great haul, thanks for sharing!

And I haven't been to Trader Joes for quite some time, but when I do go, I love buying some of the fresh produce that is more expensive at my local grocery store... especially fennel and leeks (both are amazing roasted, in soups, etc. etc.) Also, I really love their lemon kitchen soap :) Oh, and tri tip, as apparently here in the South (besides at TJ) they don't know what that is... yes, something so cheap in CA is actually a luxury item here in the South lol!

I love Edamame beans!! I have not been able to find it around here for months!!! went to Kroger's yesterday and just happened to see they started carrying them again!!! I use them for salads and my favorite is to use them in the tangy this quinoa I make. wish I had a traders joes near by. the closest thing to it around here is Sam's club.

Love, Love, LOVE Trader Joe's! It's my favorite place to shop, I think their prices are great and the staff are always friendly and they operate like a well oiled machine when the store is ridiculously crowed(something that is very appreciated by me lol). I just recently saw the riced cauliflower so I'll definitely be giving that a try, and their Seaweed Snacks are a must for me :-)

Trader Joes basic wheat bread! They're little slices, yes, but I think per slice the macros are 1F/7C/5P? Something around that! They toast great and are really easy to take on the go if you look at the size of the slices as a positive! I loved the black bean pasta, it cooked super quick and tasted great! Definitely recommend. 👍🏼

I shop there often because it's close and cheaper on most items I want. I didn't realize their freeze dried fruit was no sugar added! And I wondered how to use that riced cauliflower so thanks for that!! Totally non food related BUT, they carry a tea tree oil that is super affordable and its %100 tea tree. Also, the tea tree face cleansing pads (in a jar) are AMAZING for acne prone skin. And we love the tea tree tingle body wash. (Is there a theme here? Lol) They're all very affordable items and they work like their pricier counterparts. And for food-LOVE the boxes of frozen microwave rices. They have brown, white and jasmine rice. They may even have basmati. Cheaper than other stores and tastes as good as freshly cooked rice!

Yus! I was there today, I got so much good stuff. They had these new broccoli cauliflower veggie burgers and pea's carrots veggie burger, i didn't get it... but i was tempted to try them. Look in the freezer section, the broccoli cauliflower veggie burgers were like 50 calories. They also had riced broccoli by the riced cauliflower. So cool!!! I love their baby cucumbers. I was thinking about getting there watermelon juice! I have been thinking i could make a watermelon lemonade.... i thought maybe the super sweet watermelon and lemon juice would make a good two ingredients lemonade?

I know lots of watermelon juices include lemon in them. But watermelon lemonade sounds great - I've never tried it but I'd love to know how it turns out if you do!

You are the only person I know who needed to warm up to Trader Joe's. Fresh organic produce at Walmart prices and other unique items, not sure why you needed time to love it but OK. I highly recommend the canned organic beans, I noticed you buy those at Walmart and there is no quality control or very little there. In addition to this I recommend the organic produce which is very reasonable and usually washed and ready to eat. There are 1 million other things of course. Your channel has improved a lot over the years and I will be subscribing shortly, I enjoy them.

Maria I agree with the Walmart Organics but I still purchase there if I can't have time to drive to Trader Joe's. However, I'm a big fan of Trader Joe's especially feeding a family of six! Best time to go to Trader Joe's is right when they open! Hardly anyone there... because every Trader Joe's I've been is always packed because of their great products and prices! Definitely go when they just open up!

My favorite Trader Joe's item is unsalted sunflower seeds. A whole pound is only $2. I love them as a snack or on salads. They are so much cheaper there than at the regular grocery store. I don't spend a lot when I go to Trader Joe's but everything I get enhances my meals so much. It's a 2 hour drive for me, but I really hope I get to go soon.

I liveeee for TJ's. My favorite products are the coconut oil, seaweed snack, herbed popcorn, alkaline water, ginger, and pumpkin seeds. Oh, there spices are really affordable too (pink Himalayan salt for 1.99). I really love this store!
