The term "temporal stability coefficient" refers to the reliability coefficient that measures the consistency or stability of a test or measurement over time.

split half is when a test is split in half and the scores from each half are compared. If the scores from both halves are similar, the test is considered reliable.

Because, if Realibity Coffecient is not related to temporal(time) then it will cause practise effect or carry over effect which will increase the realibility and reduce the chances of trusting over it

Hello di, I am right now in bachelor ( b. Com) 3 rd year start but wanna go in psychology. So I started preparing for psychology entrance M.A and completed 11 th and 12 th books. Test-retest is when you give the same test on separate occasions to the same group of individuals. Alternate reliability is when you create 2 alternate forms of same test (like parallel forms) & administer to the individuals. Hope it helps!

What if the difference between split half and parallel form reliability?

Okay, so split-half reliability is when we split one single test into 2 parts and administer both of them so as to see the reliability. And, parallel forms reliability when we create 2 almost similar forms of one test & administer them separately. Hope it helps!

i have a question!!!! what if psychologist conduct the test on a subject or client who is suffering from depression today and after 6 months, the result may be improved as the depression moves from severe to mild, it means the consistency of result is somewhat changed, but we will not say na that test is not reliable because test is reliable but the person's depression suffering improves, so what we can say in this case? anyone who knows the answer let me know !! 🙂

That's why we generally consider administering the test within a span of a fortnight (14 days), so that the probability of the behaviour being changing within a person is negligible.
