Watching these old vids is great for nostalgia, but is really highlighting to me how awkwardly I move when stage moshing 😂

I am a fan of some forms of Metal, usually the lighter varieties. But this... hardly seemed like music. Most of it was just screaming one or two words at a time and constant jumping off the stage. Screaming in a song is fine, however in my opinion it requires high skill of the lead vocalist and it needs to be tastefully applied to amplify a part of a song, not as the entirety. Other people may enjoy this type of music, but it was not for me I guess. Also, is it just me or did the lead seem to forget or just not care to sing some parts? A couple times he raises the mic for a couple seconds and does nothing. I would not know because I cannot understand a single word and am unfamilliar with the music :p

hardcore punk isn't really concerned with technicality or skill, it's about emotion and passion and that's why it seems so crazy, mindset obviously sound a lot tighter on record, but shows are what hardcore is centred around, it's an outlet for expression and fun, a lot of the time the vocalist is giving the mic to the crowd cos he knows they know the words and as he says 'I'm a stranger, this is your scene, this is your stage' hardcore isn't about the dudes on the stage or in the band, it's about everyone involved, everyone that puts something into the scene is equally valued
