"Believe that you can win, but understand that you can also lose" Thats a good way of thinking playing Tekken. You gotta work for it.

Sometimes after losing ranks I get demotivated but a positive mindset always works especially for every game such as Tekken

Found you randomly, I DESPISE Hwoarang, but watching and listening to you has helped my anti Hwoarang, and my Tekken play in general. Thanks for the great content.

Positive mental notes really help you succeed. Like you said, if you tell yourself you're good you play better. If after every loss you tell yourself you suck then you'll start to believe it. Mentality plays a large role in everyday life. Another example I use is when I lift weights and I'm going for max reps. If I tell myself I'm going to get 10 I get 10. Now it's all within reason and what you're capable of but if you put those types of things in your head then they become a reality.

I think a lot of people get caught up in the trap that a lot of gaming communities have in terms of thinking only the absolute elite of the elite can call themselves good. I can't tell you how many people in League, SFV or Tekken call anyone outside of top tournament play or the upper echelon of that game's rank bad at the game. There's this fucked up notion that unless you're top .1% of a game's playerbase you have no right to call yourself skilled and its so toxic. I see people downplaying their skill, downplaying their potential and most frustratingly downplay their achievements. If you're Diamond in SFV you're good at SFV. If you're Plat/Diamond in League you're good at league. If you're blue/purple ranks in Tekken you're GOOD at Tekken. Maybe you're not Top 32 at a major good, but how many people are? Room for major improvement does not equate to being bad. People need to be proud of every step they take towards hitting the skill ceiling in whatever they do, competitively or casually. Major improvements to your early game poking and CS in League? Fuck yea be proud! Consistent anti-airing and hit confirming in SFV? Good shit, pat yourself on the back! People need to be confident of where they're at, excited for how far they can go and proud of how far they've come.

With tekken some complete trash will work at pretty high ranks. I think certain yellow ranks who are using fundamentals to win are better at the game than high rank flow charts. Just not better at winning if that makes sense.

One serious epiphany I had while playing is that ducking is well and truly optional even if you read the move that you could have ducked correctly. I main Steve so I try to exercise defence as my main gameplan but one day I fought against another Steve and he parried many many of my lows but not only did he not win the rounds the he correctly low parried me, I won rounds due to him ducking and giving me free damage. Since then even though I did already kind of had the idea in my head of ducking being a last resort it opened my eyes to the idea that: Almost always you should just be trying to get out of the way not respect your opponents mix ups. Taking your oppenent's mix up at face value really should be your last resort and you should only duck if the blocked low or ducked high gives you immense pressure at the wall, the mix up will kill you, or you can kill the opponent for ducking. Since I came to this proper realisation my defence has gotten even better and my play has reflected that.

Why does no one really play him in the pro Tournaments?
@Quince477 Жыл бұрын
@@misterpopo3920tbh he's a difficult character that requires specialist knowledge for the higher levels of play and his neutral is just isn't that great compared to most of the cast. But that doesn't mean he can't win ofc and that doesn't mean he doesn't have some cheap stuff like every character
