suggestion : do add your hand movement in video. It may give an idea upto what level of practice is needed to get that quickness in hand.

Hiya! Great video. Can't wait to watch more. I'm here in the UK and the tables here we only have 1 figure in goal

You're absolutely right. We have a guy in our company who doesn't have the best shots, but he still manages not to lose all the time. Because he has better ball control than others. Especially the 5 men rod.

Hoping you'll make a brush pass video that would include proper execution, some practice drills, and how to build a series off of that pass... maybe explaining the difference between beginner, advanced and pro brush passes. I can brush up and down, but seems like having those two options isn't enough.

I do plan on doing a brush series video, but i wanted to get some basics out there for people to learn the true fundamentals of foosball. I personally use a stick series so my next video was all about that.

What is the solution for keeping shots from going airborne? Any hard shot gets air on the table I play.

In that case I would advise you to learn the it the Pin Shot or the Pull Shot. The second one is more difficult for the most players. But you should Jeep in mind that the second one has a lot more variations to offer (and because of that harder to „catch“ for the defender.

Thanks, I'm a beginner and looking to build basic skills. This is pretty useful. In the middle of the video you mention that you should probably use a new ball. Does having a fresh ball make a huge difference? I'm trying to practice with a beat up ball and I'm having a lot of trouble making it go where I want to.
@ChasePennell

I would highly suggest getting a new ball! It makes a world of difference. But I would also suggest practicing on both. You never know what conditions you will be playing under.

HAHA! No they were on purpose. I was using an old ball so they did not pin the way they normally do. But it was on purpose.

Thank you for sharing! great video... I’m fairly new but looking to improve my skills... have a question regarding the table, I picked up a used one excellent condition a friend was giving away that appears level (think it’s a Harvard 200-300 dollar table gray w black legs) and ball does not roll when I place it anywhere on table except a couple spots, I’m attempting to practice pins but it’s extremely hard to pin the ball w players and hand off pins between players, not sure if that just means need to practice more? Even after a few weeks it still slides away when trying the pinning drills move around and ball moves slightly when letting go of the pin? In general, how much difference does the table make vs a high end tomado table etc?? Thanks in advance!
@ChasePennell
@ChasePennell 5 жыл бұрын
To be honest with you. The table make all of the difference. You cannot do the same things that you can do on your table like you would a tornado. Newer players often think that they are close enough.... I can promise you they are not. I can play on a ton of different tables, but the only reason i can do that is because i had a good table to learn on. You can go down but not up. If i had to make a comparison it would be like trying to compare BMX Racing to NASCAR.

I got a used table. The ball seams to kind of roll, then stop and roll the other way sometimes. Obviously the table has some ups and downs on it. Will this make learning to play properly harder?

Hi, I have a lot of problem in locking the ball pin (front/ back) because the ball very easily slides from the pin, I don't understand why no one is facing this issue? I don't feel that locking the ball under pin( back/front) is rudimentary as the ball slips from the grip easily,Any suggestions?

Watching you do it is helpful, but if you could talk us through HOW you do it that would be super helpful. I know words can only go so far. Where do you contact the ball to make it go this direction or that? Where should the ball be in relation to the man or the rod?
@ChasePennell
@ChasePennell 5 жыл бұрын
Tim Simmons what kind of table do you have? If you have a Tornado you should be able to follow along exactly.

The three man is four non-ramped corners. If the corners have ramps you only have one goalie. The three man is way better.

@byronathon

American tables, generally, have the extra goalies to prevent dead balls in the corner ... Single goalie tables, generally, have curved corners to prevent same concept

Tornado company decided to create a table with three goalies and it became the most popular tournament style which has been adopted by other table makers, but the one goalie style remains true to the ethics of "table football", which the rest of the world's tables adhere to.

I like ya. Don't get carried away about being so bossy! Settle down some! Back in the day we had to work the rod! You're talking like it's the only way to play! if you are correct then foosball is junk and only the fastest man wins. Some get style points!
@ChasePennell
@ChasePennell 2 жыл бұрын
Foosball is more like playing Chess then just speed.... But in a way yes, the fastest man often wins. Keep in mind, that I am specifically trying to help new players learn to play on tour.
