probably one of the biggest jump to defensive power I made was when I switched from using distributors to using containers with unloaders for feeding ammo to my turrets. with distributors, it's very easy to cut off the ammo source (usually a single destroyed conveyer, or the distributer itself) to deactivate a large number of turrets in a sustained attack. however, huddling a few turrets around a container gives a very steady supply of ammo to a large number of turrets, keeps up with the firing speed much easier, and allows for a much longer sustained fire. the much larger health pool of a container ensures its a far less likely point of critical failure that when using distributers

A thing I learned from pain was that the enemy AI is lazy and will take the easy path, for example if there are two paths that lead to your core, and one is thick and the other one is thin, the enemy will go the "thin" way, so be careful.
@Daniel-ek5sh10 күн бұрын
Same, when there's a good defence spot i block all the other entrances with double walls and the stop with a single one so the AI comes to the spot

Cryofluid is honestly just the best defence tip i find. It fuels meltdowns, it works really well with blast compound, it slows down enemies, and it even is used for thorium/differential/impact reactors. many possible and cool combinations.

Polys are truly the best. First thing I make when I play a new sector/base. Not only do they help rebuild when you lose a sector, they also make building anything so much faster because all of them help you build it at once. Polys are god-sent.

About building drones... I rebuilt a defense on ruins of previous one and then added these drones. THEY STARTED REPAIRING OLD DEFENCE AND THAT DESTROYED MY NEW SCHEMATICS!!
@wingidon2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, a lot of the time when I try to capture a sector for the second time, I just build some Polys and a bunch of resource drills flowing to my core, and the Polys rebuild the parts that got destroyed while I focus on defending.

5:18 something very lazy i do but somehow destroyed a whole eclipse alone is i put alot of menders and walls near the base, put some fuse and when a boss comes there i keep shooting him with units while he is trying to destroy the core that is constantly healing rapidly, not the best way to solve it but once if the boss crossed all your defenses and you can't build turrets because of time you can try doing it

I use meltdowns right in front of a line of enemies to pierce all of them at the same time. Tsunamis also hold off powerful air units like antumbras on sector 226, allowing for my meltdown to stop them. They also stop eclipses from rushing my thorium reactors and helps the spectres in holding them off.

Another tip: Surprisingly, armored conveyors have more armor that titanium conveyors. The reasoning behind this fact of game is unknown, but it is recomended to utilize their larger health pool to make sure that ammo is delivered to turrets Tldr: put armor conveyors on defences shitlips

I used a narrow path and using slag and coal and setup some conveyors so when they explode they set fire on coal it was so helpful and taking down bombers and nova waves easily. (in early and mid game this strategy is op)

Nice video ! I learned cool things, now can you do a guide for beginners on how to use drone ? (to help mine, to help build, fleet to attack.. ?)
@LowJackAP Жыл бұрын
2:10 3-5 line wall will typically be enough to detour mechs away from vulnerable entries similarly if you can't help but layer up your defenses then keeping a empty spot (ground for them to step on) every 3 or so blocks like a path will guide them more or less where you want them to go as long as the other entries are as dense (this also works well if you want to split them up into more manageable groups) so if mechs are your problem don't be afraid to layer up those turrets :)

putting electric turrets near the enemy's potential path is actually good thing to do, because they do good damage and no need to conveyoring, just put some near a node and it's good to go.
@slomow-15402 жыл бұрын
2:00 instead of making hole , you can manipulate the ai to take path you wanted by making giant block of wall
@quartzlandaker5664 Жыл бұрын
You do need to have your funnel of defense on the shortest "as the bird flies" route to your base if you want the enemies that can walk over stuff to be hit by your defenses
@dangductran292611 ай бұрын
Additional tip: Always have force projector in the back of your defense. Your walls might not need it much but your conveyors and power nodes do. Put scatter near every lead source you can find. It helps with flying units. Always have one or two repair points/turrets near your defense. In case your polies and megas got hurt. Always make mega. These guys will help find any damaged build you didn't noticed. Help finding week spots in the defense. 250% build speed too. Segment usually not worth it. It't never hurt making attack units, even in defense map. They can save you when there is no backup defense. Always make waves and tsunami near buildings that can catch fire.

I knew everything you said already, but still nice video! For me personally, Swarmer and Meltdown take care of everything. Swarmer for the waves, meltdowns+cryo for the bosses. Also, if someone read this, who meets like an Eradication level, they just get annoyed by, or maybe reach too high waves when getting attacked; build a basic defense(if you didnt already) and just keep building, after you kill all enemies, before you reach a wave you cant handle(probably before i guardian wave) save and quit, copy the map save file; abandon map and copy the old map save back in, you will have your map and start at wave 1 again. Its save scumming, but since some maps are kinda unbalanced; this was keeping it "fair" for me. I forgot to say; if you didnt know already; Phase walls reflect bullets and Plastanium walls stop the boss beam attacks. Those 2 are basically the only walls i use now. Phase in front and plastinium in the back, behind that a row of meltdowns and behind those a 2 rows of swarmers, ofc the heal things and shield generators.

Use factory and generators to bait because t2 flare don’t target the generators
@kiwi90652 жыл бұрын
Don't make a gaping hole in your walls! Just make the walls that you want the enemy to target thinner than the rest. The enemy would target the middle of your wall where it's thinner and therefore you can basically control where they go to
@fishstick19002 жыл бұрын
Gaping holes make them spread firepower on the entire hallway tho. Also it means you can have turrets on both sides instead of just in front of them and forces them to go into range of short range turrets like Fuse.
@kiwi90652 жыл бұрын
@@fishstick1900 it would become a problem if the firepower of your defenses aren't enough to stop the enemies, who will walk through the hallway
@dangductran292611 ай бұрын
@@kiwi9065usually on campaign there won't be waves that turrets can't defense. Unless you constantly lose a vulnerable sector and got to wave 200+. On servers, hole in the defense only mean death.

i have 2 tips 1: use stronger ammo like pyratite because ammo most of the time matter more than the turret ex: salvo with pyratite/thorium 2 robots can sometimes be a good defense like a bunch of daggers, robots don't cost ammo and take less space so you can make them grouped+until tier 3 you got enough variation to have about 40 units defending
@singularitytr1550 Жыл бұрын
Biggest pain in mindustry higher tier defending buildings require better materials which are slower to make and take multiple resources to make.
